I've very excited because I get to go to the comic book store tomorrow. It's not that it's especially far away (by car), it's more that I have no way to get there.
When I have a car, I'll go every week! Or something.
Dream Girl ,'Bring On The Night'
Discussion of Buffy and Angel comics, books, and more. Please don't get into spoilery details in the first week of release.

I work directly next to two comic book stores. And three used CD places. It is daily.fricking.torture. I already have three things to buy today! No more!
The reason I mail-ordered my Frays though is that I was too scared to go into the comic shops for a long time. There is nothing to be scared of - and as I have said in Bitches - it actually makes me feel especially pretty usually when I go in now because they are not so used to seeing the women folk there.
I think I may walk up the road and have my first comic book store experience during lunch today. Oh, the things that Buffistadom brings into one's life. Whee!
Hmmm. Must check out "1602."
One thing that cracks me up about the setting back of the timeline is that some characters' origins actually go back that far. For example, if they want to use the same origin story for Dr. Strange, his mentor was about 200 at the turn of the 17th century. And if they didn't want to change things for tone, Thor would be available at an earlier point in the life of the present-day Marvel character.
There's no new Buffy/Angel comics, right? Since the teddy bear thing?
Hey, Tina, were those cds ever dropped into the mail?

They just finished up the Buffy-goes-to-the-institution arc and next up is the Summers' divorce.

S'okay.

Might have to see if they have those at the store.

And this will be the last monthly Buffy comics arc. Afther that, we'll just have to wait for mini-series, special one-shots, and new collections like Tales of the Vampires. I wonder why Dark Horse decided to end the monthly. I know the sales have tapered off a bit, but the franchise was its 3rd or 4th best seller, behind the Star Wars comics, Hellboy, and the new Cal McDonald series.
Because Dark Horse is on drugs?
That is the only logical conclusion I can think of, because they have vastly underpromoted the title, and have not had an Angel title for almost a year.
I agree with you there, CaBil. There has been zero promotion for any of their Buffy products. Even us hard-core fans have had to dig hard to get information. The only thing I can think of is that they can't make much money because of the licensing fee, so they don't want to blow their mimal advertising budget on it.
I think the lack of Angel comics may be due to a combination of things. The first line got stuck with an extremely long lead time that led them to have Doyle appear far after he left the show. Then, the second volume, actually written by Joss himself, took quite some time to finish just 4 issues. I think that caused Dark Horse to throw in the towel.
