Visilurking

Well what can you expect from 60+ years of retconning?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Another connection between Hawkgirl and Dr. Fate (at least in some of their incarnations) is that they're both originally archeologists.

But in brief, Steph, Dr. Fate is the #1 Magic guy in the DCverse. Parallel to Dr. Strange. Plus he always just looked cool.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

The animation version of whats-his-name. He originally made an appearance on Superman: The Animated Series.

And from the looks of it, that's the original Dr. Fate--Kent Nelson--before all the continuity weirdness. He's much simpler to su up: bad-ass sorcerer superhero.

Yeah, but Hector's more fun, in a Darla or Connor kind of way.

Eh. If you say so. I was OK with Hector until they brought Lyta back, undoing anything interesting that had been done with her in the Vertigo stories.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Okay, now I'm confused. Didn't Hector *die* in Sandman?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Didn't Hector *die* in Sandman?

You say that as if it were some kind of permanent thing.
