GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Thanks, Snacky. Most of my experience is with the various cartoons over the years, with the occaisional comic and summary thrown in. I wasn't sure if things weren't just being lightened up "for the kiddies" in the animated world.

Just finished up the UXM I have downloaded. Which means I'm out of comics (well, I downloaded a big batch of old school X-Men, like starting with the original first issue, but I don't know if I can put up with the 60s cheesiness.) Good thing I'm going to the comic store tomorrow.

Thrive to spite them

I went to both the stores that are on my way home (well if I take the slightly scenic route).

I ended up with a Batman: Gotham Knights, a Teen Titan, the lastest issue of The Outsiders and 8 & 9, GCPD 2-4, and bags and boards, which is good because I came home to find the cat had destroyed 2 issues of GCPD.

Also at the first store I went to they had Astonishing X-Men for $8, but at the second they had a whole stack of them at regular price.

... and that's a Pantera's box you don't want to open. - Mister Furious

All I have to say is that soon I will be back in the city that has my favorite comic store in the entire world, and likely with a job that will allow me to purchase comic books, so it's nice how that works out. Then, I'll be able to chime in with things besides old trading cards and obscure New Warriors References.

I may have to seize the cat.

Ree-dikulous.

My friend who lives in the apt complex I am thinking of moving to informed me there's a comic book store very nearby. But it wouldn't be on my way home from work. So - good, but not too dangerous. Yay!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Ultimate Comics?

It's only two weeks old! Sadly that strategy will probably work in that eventually the other stores will run out and since Marvel doesn't do reprints someone's going to be willing to pay $8 for it. Though that shop is going to be sitting on it for awhile. Still very much of the lame, though.

I do have one question about UXM, though. What the hell is up with Iceman's "costume"? He looks like The Dread Pirate Frosty.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Kalshane, there was an limited alternative cover, in all probability that was the higher cost ...

Yes.

I'd rather you were moving to my end of town, but you get the better comics store out of the deal!

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

There were two alternate covers for Astounishing X-Men, and the rarer one was selling for like $50/issue when it was first released. This, as I said to our IT guy, is what is wrong with comics.

Superman Birthright #11 - By this time, I'm just collecting it to keep the run intact.

Buh? Whu? I love Birthright. Clark Kent -- a woobie in all media.
