Also at the first store I went to they had Astonishing X-Men for $8
Ree-dikulous.
My friend who lives in the apt complex I am thinking of moving to informed me there's a comic book store very nearby. But it wouldn't be on my way home from work. So - good, but not too dangerous. Yay!

It's only two weeks old! Sadly that strategy will probably work in that eventually the other stores will run out and since Marvel doesn't do reprints someone's going to be willing to pay $8 for it. Though that shop is going to be sitting on it for awhile. Still very much of the lame, though.
I do have one question about UXM, though. What the hell is up with Iceman's "costume"? He looks like The Dread Pirate Frosty.
Kalshane, there was an limited alternative cover, in all probability that was the higher cost ...
I'd rather you were moving to my end of town, but you get the better comics store out of the deal!
There were two alternate covers for Astounishing X-Men, and the rarer one was selling for like $50/issue when it was first released. This, as I said to our IT guy, is what is wrong with comics.
Superman Birthright #11 - By this time, I'm just collecting it to keep the run intact.
Buh? Whu? I love Birthright. Clark Kent -- a woobie in all media.
Ah. Wasn't aware of the dual-cover thing.
The cover that the store was selling for $8 is the one with just Wolverine's claws extended.
Which the other store had roughly 10 copies of at regular price.
What does the limited edition cover look like?
(I think that the regular cover looks pretty cool.)
