I'd swear there's something in one of my comics about how Nightwing keeps the mask on, but I'm probably smoking crack.
I feel like there was something about this in The Watchmen.

But how MUCH of it did you have to use? See? If it's got to be all around your eyes and over your nose? Blech.
A fair amount. We used to use it in the eye area to remove my eyebrows for the night during Rocky Horror (I have VERY DC eyebrows, which isn't very Columbia), and recent application has been for facial hair purposes, directly under my nose.

It's some special adhesive that Batman or the WayneTech scientists developed. Need a special solvent to remove the mask.
Of course, this doesn't explain why Nightwing's mask just flew off in TT/YJ Graduation Day, but I suspect I'm not supposed to put that much thought into it.
PMM, maybe you have very high quality spirit gum or something. Folks I knew using it had a real hard time breathing, but maybe that's because the masks actually covered their noses with only itty bitty nostril holes to breathe out of.

Nah, just Ben Nye. It's probably the covering of the nose causing the problems. I can't breathe with things over my nose like that, spirit gum or no.

Isn't it used all the time for mustaches? Which are, y'know, right under the nose.
Jon, what kind of freak ass moustaches are you thinking of?
An ass moustache is nowhere near the nose.
Jon, what kind of freak ass moustaches are you thinking of?
The fake kind, used by actin' folk.
If a beard has come to mean what it has, has moustache got a comparable secondary meaning?
Random aside: ARTHUR! My moustache is touching my BRAIN!!!!!
