Last week, my power was out; this week, I failed to get the VCR to respond to my programming efforts. Needless to say, I'm without the last two eps of Firefly.
I'm glad to pay for the tape and shipping, of course, and I'll throw in cookies and eternal gratitude while we're at it. Profile addy is good.
I'm going to be out of the country for the next two weeks, and we're leaving tomorrow afternoon. Can any DCistas tape this Tuesday's new Buffy and the Firefly pilot December 20th? I'm willing to resort to bribery.
OK, I know I'm sort of a new face (I delurked briefly last winter, as LizMinn, and then re-lurked), so I feel kinda odd asking for the Firefly tapeage. But ask I must. The local broadcast of "Out of Gas" was pre-empted by coverage of Paul Wellstone's death. (*sniffle*) I was planning on catching it in reruns, but that seems improbable now. So if any Buffistas could loan me their tape, or make me a copy, I would be much obliged and would of course pay for postage and blank tape and yes, probably some chocolatey goodness. So this year the UPN affiliate and the Fox affiliate switched channels, UPN going from 9 to 10 and Fox going from 10 to 9. And I know this, but am stupid. On Tuesdays I tape Buffy (on UPN, natch), followed by 24 (on Fox). Only tonight, the regular Fox programming was delayed by a hockey game. Not to mention that my autoprogramming for the cable wasn't working right this afternoon, so I couldn't set everything to automatically change channels. But I thought I had it wired, see? I just put the cable on UPN before I leave for work, and since I should be back from work by 10 or so, I'll just change it to Fox before I head out for the midnight showing of The Two Towers. Only, in my cold-addled brain, I forgot that UPN is no longer 9, so I taped an hour of hockey and I have no Buffy.
Long story short: Me dumb. Need tape. Please please please please please.
Knut - I can hand off during the Firefly party, iff'n you promise to get it back before new Buffy airs in January.

Hi! I used to post occasionally in the old board as StephanieT, but since there were quite a few Stephs I changed. Due to my VCR having a quirky problem that requires that I actually be there to hit the record button, I missed TWO episodes in November, and the people who were supposed to help me have been written off the Xmas card list! And I'm all askew with the arc and it's making me so confused. So could some kind person lend me a tape of the episode with the ghosts and the one where Giles apparently didn't get killed (Thanksgiving week). I'm in DC or would be happy to pay postage.
I think I have all the Buffy and Firefly episodes now on either VCD or VCR media. I haven’t tried to dub to tape from VCD yet so I don’t know about the quality.
If anyone is still in need of some episode after the 1st let me know. Too crazed with the kids out of school to think about dubbing before then.
I will be fixing the satellite glitch in the Profit tapes on the 23rd when it airs again.
I just realized that I left my apartment and FORGOT to set the vcr for Firefly!! Could someone out there tape it for me tonight, or maybe a Tivo-owner make me a copy? I'll send goodies for rewards, I will!
