Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

Our wings are not tired.

Well, it has only been, oh yeah, not so much.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It makes me laugh that it's still here.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This Thread reminds me of how once upon a time I bought two VCRS - two! - so I could tape Buffy and Angel and make an extra copy for a friend. I did that for years.

Does anyone else sometimes still say tape to mean record or video? I said the other day that I was going to tape a show and my youngest niece looked at me like I was a dinosaur. Which, fair enough.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

At one time, I worked nights, and I bought and set up vCard to tape, I think, Angel, West Wing and CSI all at the same time!

Our wings are not tired.

I still lazily say tape to people who know what I mean. Such a different world in such a short time. Of course, as easy as it is now to save multitudes of programs my unwatched queue is worse than ever.

Reminder that I still have VCR tapes I need to convert.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I had two VCRs because without cable I needed to adjust the rabbit ears for different stations. So... two sets of rabbit ears and two VCRs let me record all my shows without fussing with the reception.

I still don't have cable, but I let Hulu do most of my recording now.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I had 2 VCRs because sometimes you were out of the house and needed to record 2 shows at once. I have the DVR for it now, but I also get attitude from the cable guys when I complain that the box that just died was 80-some percent full.

If they'd just make those basic DVRs with the capability to burn DVDs clearing my recordings would be a snap! Instead I tend to run at about 96% capacity and have to make a Sophie's choice whenever I want to record something.

Though I just found out that Galavant is now out on DVD, so that's several hours I'll be able to free up.

That you managed to hold on to Galavant that long impresses the heck out of me. Not only would I probably have lost it for space by now, I've also had, I think, 2 DVRs die on me since the last ep aired. (P.S. That DVD info is good info to have.)

And SERIOUSLY, how hard could it be to create DVRs with the capability to save to DVD/jumpdrive/something? The cable guys all insist on pointing out that they're not intended as storage devices; then why don't they give us the means to transfer to a long term storage medium?

It's possible that not recording that often due to the near-capacity backlog has extended the life of my DVR? At any rate, the Galavant episodes I managed to save are locked so they can only be deleted if I do it manually; now it'll fall to Agent Carter to be my most sacrosanct recordings.
