Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, here are the questions they ask:

Server Type (ds1, ds2, ds3):
Options
	Raid 1: yes/no
      Additional 512MB RAM: yes/no

Primary domain to attach to the server:

We want ds1 with additional RAM, right? But do we want Raid 1? Just checking.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What's the price differential for RAID 1?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Looks like $249 to start, $10/month.

I lean against it, for that money -- we can add it on later if people disagree.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK. So we do want 512MB ECC DDR Memory for $129, right?

You want it, you got it.

Our wings are not tired

Tech folks are cranking away, very cool. Are we cool on cash? I can throw some at this if it's needed.

Right now we have enough to start, and for the next seven months. We'll need more then, but if you ("you" generally) have cash now, feel free to send it along. I imagine post-holidays may be better for some people.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

One thing about Raid - if not done absolutely right it slows you down rather than speeds you up, and provides less disk integrity rather than more.

So- I think waiting on the raid is a wise decision. If we ever do need raid, we want to spend time configuring it.
