Tara: Do you have any books on robots? Giles: Oh, yes, dozens. There's a lot of research to be done in order to--no, I'm lying. Haven't got squat. I just like watching Xander squirm.

One thing about Raid - if not done absolutely right it slows you down rather than speeds you up, and provides less disk integrity rather than more.

So- I think waiting on the raid is a wise decision. If we ever do need raid, we want to spend time configuring it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

provides less disk integrity rather than more.

How does this happen? I've never had this happen, and I've never done anything special configuring it.

cheap raid controller cards. By configuring I'm talking about making sure you get good hardware, not setup (which should be pretty transparent).

Ann, that's a ferret.

We'll need more then, but if you ("you" generally) have cash now, feel free to send it along.

Is there a mailing address for those of us without PayPal?

I doubt we'll get the opportunity to spend time getting not cheap hardware, though. We should probably just ask them what they do.

Sorry, just a question ... was the message centre supposed to go away? Because its gone and I'm a little confused.

Swouncing

Abby, I think that it's not gone as much as its page is not fully loaded on occasion, as another aspect of the error message that some are getting (including me, and it's getting worse with time, in fact).

Of course, I have no real knowledge to support this assumption.

Lots of thanks to ita and Jesse and Kristen and Monique and everybody else who is working hard for all of us, because it can never be said enough.

Ah, that would make sense. Thank you Nilly!

And adding my thanks to yours, cause everyone who keeps this place afloat is amazing!

Just for the record, I'm not doing anything but paying the nice people.
