One thing about Raid - if not done absolutely right it slows you down rather than speeds you up, and provides less disk integrity rather than more.

So- I think waiting on the raid is a wise decision. If we ever do need raid, we want to spend time configuring it.

How does this happen? I've never had this happen, and I've never done anything special configuring it.
