A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

there was only one Istrata option up for use

There are a couple of different options. I think the primary difference is the speed of the processor on the server.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh. I only skipped past all but the $99 IGHz one -- and skimming back I don't see the other. Is it faster?

Kristen - Nov 08, 2003 6:10:21 pm PST #6017 of 10000

Yes. The next option up was $129 a month and had a 2.4 Ghz P4 processor.

What processor are we on now, Kristen, and what was the speed of the one you proposed?

Kristen - Nov 08, 2003 6:18:37 pm PST #6019 of 10000

Right now you're on a dual xeon with 2 GB of RAM. I want to say 2.4 GHz? The server I had proposed was 2.53 GHz P4 with 1 GB of RAM.

ETA: I just checked. 2.4.

My instinct, then, if it's all our own, we won't need the bigger processor.

Questions proposed:

  • upgrade costs
  • mail? I see no mention of mail services in the package.

I do think that you should go for the memory upgrade, which is $129 upfront. Obviously on a dedicated you should be able to add all the email accounts you want. I don't know what, if anything, they have for webmail and/or mailing lists.

I can't see where they say they provide SMTP/POP3/IMAP. I assume they do, but I'd like to be sure.

Also, mailing lists and webmail, as you mention.

And I agree with the memory.

I logged into the demo control panel and it's showing SMTP/POP3/IMAP. You might want to take a look around in there.

Okay, I'm evidently missing stuff. Where'd that link come from?
