A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

But when you have other accounts that are doing fine and one account that's having problems, do you change settings for that one account and possibly disrupt service for all the others?

That's fair. How about if we went to a dedicated server temporarily? Would they be willing to try and play with the configuration then? If it turns out that our code is fine, and the fault is at their end, they make the change on a shared server and move us back. We agree to pay for the dedicated server while we're on it, of course.

No idea if this is feasible -- just throwing out ideas here.

Well, here's the thing with dedicated. You can do whatever you want, configuration wise. It's all yours. But also, you don't necessarily need to do anything. There's suddenly no limit on the number of connections available to you.

Now, as for the idea that we move back at some point if it's "their issue"? I'm not very comfortable with that and don't think I'd be willing to pitch it to IH. Again, you're talking about asking them to make changes to a server that other accounts are housed on. That's just not likely to happen. Also, if we moved twice, they'd have to move us twice. Again, I don't feel they're going to want to do that, especially for less money.

That's one way to look at it. I was thinking we could sell it as "we'll pay you to see if it's our fault." Maybe?

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Jon, really, there's nothing for them there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can also fully understand why, if everyone else is humming along, IH wouldn't want to tweak on our behalf, and that home-grown code is always going to be suspect.

Thank you for explaining, and for all the head-thunking you've done since we moved.

All of this. And let me know if there's anything I can do, beyond writing a check.

Or, including writing a check, if we should be paying Fangeek more.

Hmm, well that's weird. I was reading a page, minimized it without clicking to another, then I pulled it back up to continue reading and the background is gray! Did I do something weird to change the background color of this site? My other web pages don't seem to be affected.

Nobody

Did you refresh, Nora? It might just be browser wonkiness.

I logged out and in again, and it's back to white again. I am interested in how that happened though.

I think "browser wonkiness" about covers it.
