Just f.y.i., any links within posts will not be removed. That would involve doing some sort of regex to each post which I don't want to get involved in. Plus, I would think we want the links that folks post about in the threadsuck.

Hi, some of us in Literary were just talking about a music thread, and someone said she thought it had been discussed before but not implemented for some reason not known to us. So I'm an emissary on the subject. Has it come up before?

Not until y'all got into specifics of implementing 'threadsucking' did I finally figure out what it IS. It sounded like an advanced search function to me. Also, 'sucking' is vulgar, not that vulgar is necessarily bad but it does makes me recoil a little when I see it because I don't expect it in a computer function.

"Suck" is no more inherently vulgar than "blow." They are unique verbs that as such are used in vulgar contexts. "Threadsuck" is not related to those contexts.
