Any domain that doesn't exists gives that result.

[link] for instance. Though I'm sure that's been reserved for future use...

Hi, some of us in Literary were just talking about a music thread, and someone said she thought it had been discussed before but not implemented for some reason not known to us. So I'm an emissary on the subject. Has it come up before?

One user's comments while I'm here: I like to understand acronyms and terminology. 'Download' or 'save' are explanatory. Not until y'all got into specifics of implementing 'threadsucking' did I finally figure out what it IS. It sounded like an advanced search function to me. Also, 'sucking' is vulgar, not that vulgar is necessarily bad but it does makes me recoil a little when I see it because I don't expect it in a computer function.

But this really was a music thread Q.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Also, 'sucking' is vulgar, not that vulgar is necessarily bad but it does makes me recoil a little when I see it because I don't expect it in a computer function.

"Suck" is no more inherently vulgar than "blow." They are unique verbs that as such are used in vulgar contexts. "Threadsuck" is not related to those contexts.

"Threadsuck" sets off my vulgarity sensor. And "Threadblow" would to. For some reason, "Download" doesn't. I guess I'm just funny that way.

Well, threadsuck isn't vulgar in context if you already know what it means. It isn't obvious.

What Rob said.

Music?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

OK-- now I feel like I am back in college playing that suck and blow drinking game.

Seriously, I intellectually understand that words like suck, blow, scew, etc are just words with other non-vulgar meanings, but people do tend to have dirty minds, and a ____suck button seems like it would jump off the page at a cow-orker glancing over my shoulder.

What Sophia said. Further example: I've never looked at the "bitches" page and I'm never gonna because I don't want someone to walk by and see that at the top of a page on my computer. Not everyone has a computer at home!

Edit: that lasted a few weeks. Finally, I went to look and there're awesome stories there! l

Who the hell invented the term Threadsuck anyway? The guy who invented the Perl thing for TT threads way back when? Or was it a commonly-used term?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The music question belongs in Bureaucracy (where it looks like a few folks have already expressed an opinion...).
