Take a look at the sample sucked thread I created, DX. All that stuff has been removed.
Saw it, and it looks great.

Do you have problems, concerns or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.

So the user can select their preferred option in any case?
Sort of. My coding works thusly: There will be a link or links on the thread pages (like this one here), that say "Threadsuck all" and/or "Threadsuck new". Clicking on the link generates the threadsucked page. If you looked at the URL of the page in the address bar, you'd see (among other things) "&mark_read=yes" (or something similar). If you didn't want to update the last unread post, you would have to right-click, select "copy shortcut" (or your browser's equivalent), paste the shortcut into the address bar, and then manually change the &mark_read variable to "no". Not the easiest thing, but certainly doable.
If you're looking for old requests, there's the issue of Lynx browser-users needing to use
t br
to start a new paragraph. It had something to do with the difference between 'n' and 'r' in hard returns (sorry for the lame explanation). Hmm. I haven't actually tried it recently.
Test: left two lines blank.
Edit: Yup, still an issue.
Not sure which thread this should go in but isn't this quote misattributed?
You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture. Giles, 'Never Kill A Boy On The First Date'
Didn't Giles say this in 'Reptile Boy'?
Here's a Search feature suggestion that just occurred to me -- to be able to search a specific thread for a phrase and/or poster -- mostly because I want to look for all my first reactions to Firefly here and see how my reaction to the series evolved, without going through every single post I've made everywhere else, which is perhaps unfortunately quite a few....
The current search function allows you to search by poster, although it doesn't do phrases yet. (You can put a phrase in, but it will be parsed as individual keywords.)
Connie, as a very rough workaround you could temporarily unsubscribe from all the other threads!
You can search a thread by adding the thread_id to the search page URL, e.g. you can search this thread by using [link]
search.php?thread_id=n (where n is the thread number) get you the option of searching a single thread.
t edit Curse you, speedy-fingered DXM!
Ooh, very cool! I love undocumented features.
