So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I like having it lined up with the posts, because I'm less likely to accidentally click on something on my way to the posting box.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'd prefer the thread title not to be so obviously coloured, since it chips away at my stealth mode (read .... ita scrolls down to the bottom of the screen and pretends to be busy).

Hmm. It seemed like a bunch of people wanted the title to stand out at the bottom so that they wouldn't accidentally post to the wrong thread.

I don't mind it being there, but it's harder to look innocuous if it's blood coloured. Just bold, perhaps? It's colours that'll turn people's heads as they walk past my cube.

I liked the blood, but I respect your concerns. :)

Bold seems like a good compromise. It's simply a matter of changing the class from normal-bold-blood to normal-bold, but I can mark it up tonight. Depending on additional comments we receive, I might move the posting box back over at the same time.

What if the posting box was centered on the page like the "Buffistas Home | FAQ | How-To | Etiquette | About | E-mail Admins" thingie just above it? Would that work for everyone?

brillig

Centering to the line of links would be perfect, those come up centered on my machine.

I can deal either way, but if we're getting a choice, centering works. I like that design, becuase the horizontal line just below the posts gives the eye the expectation that things could change. The link bar looks just a tad odd being the only thing centered.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Yikes! For about 4 or 5 minutes, I couldn't connect to any part of Buffistas.org -- message center, main page, etc. -- and when I did, I got this message:

October 30, 2002, 1:07 pm Steph L.[73]: ERROR [2] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) line 69 of file /home/buffist/public_html/classes/giles.php

October 30, 2002, 1:07 pm Steph L.[73]: ERROR [2] MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) line 69 of file /home/buffist/public_html/classes/giles.php

There has been an error. It's of the type we call fatal. Please don't be scared. You're not the one that's going to die.

Okay, where the $$&#&(@#& are the developers?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, me too:

October 30, 2002, 1:08 pm Jesse[8]: ERROR [2] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) line 69 of file /home/buffist/public_html/classes/giles.php

Also, I'm not sure how I feel yet about the moved posting box -- change is hard! -- or the colored thread name. I LOVE having the thread name there, though.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yeah, same here.

Ditto for me.
