The magical world of LJ has clarified something else: when we meet Future Hiro in the first scene, he's
just gotten back from giving Peter the message.
That's why he's surprised that Peter saved Claire (aaaaalso, it now makes sense, with the latest comic, that Hiro would go back to give a message to PETER, of all people), and yet the future was still the same.
So you guys are confusing me with the timeline.
I love that this big pronouncement that so much of the beginning of the series was based on was based on false assumptions and, now, demonstrably wrong.
It's not wrong, though, right? Originally,
Sylar did explode,
and it's because he had Claire's powers that he was able to do that and live (he wouldn't have done it suicidally). Clearly, saving the cheerleader hasn't saved the world YET, but it will.
We don't know that. It may have been Sylar, or it may have always been Peter--although I am more convinced by the "it used to be Sylar, but the timeline changed" POV
Right, because Peter got his dream
after
he saved the cheerleader.
Plus, the comic says so.
Wait, I think I have this: it's in the vision Peter had, where he's about to blow up and everybody is fleeing him, except for Nathan. He's walking up close, presumably to fly him away to the moon, and there's some line about their deep, abiding brotherly love.
OTHO? If Nathan does get to him early enough, he can fly him off away from the city, maybe over the Atlantic.
Nathan would not survive, but a very wounded and suffering Peter would return.
On still another hand, Peter could HIMSELF fly away when he feels he's going nuclear.
I'm still thinking Peter could absorb explosive guy's power, and Sylar in the original timeline also got to explosive guy. And it was too much for either Peter or Sylar to control.
Peter has the advantage over Sylar...he can fly.
Unless Sylar "Meets" Nathan before the conflagration.
ETA: Wrote this before I went out for a bit, forgot to post it, or my internet went down, or the router. My dog ate it.
"We named the dog Indiana."
Plus, the comic says so.
What does it say, and where?
It says so in comic #30, but it was from Future!Hiro's POV.
Jumping to end again (hard keeping up with y'all with the thesis writing, what can I say):
I remember this headache. I used to call it McFly.
Hee! also, I'm loving this about Heroes: they don't try to get into the time-bendy explanation. They let you think what you want. Star Trek always got into trouble when they tried to explain it and pretend like they were using actual science (@@).
If wanting to keep scarred!badass!Peter is wrong, I don't want to be right.
it was from Future!Hiro's POV.
True, but "I stabbed him before he exploded, but he regenerated" is about as first-hand as you can get. -t's theory is looking even better.
I'm loving this about Heroes: they don't try to get into the time-bendy explanation.
Right. Which is why after they kill Sylar they can bring his alternate future timeline self back any time they want.
"You may have got my timeline assholes, but I traveled in time before its destruction.; I'll create a future you'll like even less."
The logic behind may be complicated, but nothing real complicated is needed in the script. Whether they actually do this or not is all about the Meta. If Sylar is a popular enough villain and the actor is available when they decide they want him, of course they will bring him back.
Okay, just watched my tape.
That was AWESOME.
I have nothing more to say. Oh, except that Future!Hiro is kind of scary and depressing, but Future!Peter is a total hottie badass.
