Peter did. He was drawing stick figures in the hospital, but he painted exactly like Isaac did. Which is interesting. Perhaps because Peter was copying Isaac's power, whereas Syler was interpreting it.

And a watchmaker may be trained in the fine arts to a certain extent, as some fine engraving they may be called on to do could certainly be seen as artistic skill- I would buy that Sylar is using that older artistic talant rather than copying Isaac.

FINALLY caught up with the ep!

So uh...Alan Moore is getting a big fat royalty check for Linderman's opening speech, right? (I mean, if you're gonna steal, steal from the best, but...wow. I even pulled my copy of Watchmen off the shelf to make sure I wasn't projecting, and it's practically a verbatim lift.)

I liked how Sylar's painting style is nothing like Isaac's.

I love how Sylar turned the scene was saw from Isaac into something so much darker. It was like a David McKean image being recreated by Frank Miller. Cree-pee.

No scar . . . yet.

I thought it was a tiny scar, but it would be way cooler if it's a big honkin' scar. Of course, the most sense is that he has no scar, since the future has been changed.

What a Watchmen shout-out! Jeez. It would be interesting to see if Alan is credited anywhere for that. Surely Jeph Loeb knew what he was doing.

I loved the Petrellis, all in the same house for the first time ever (minus Nathan's sons). I wonder what Claire will think of her brothers. She looked so devastated and joyous at the same time--I'm so impressed by Hayden.

How odd to see Peter in a polo. He looked more like the upper-class New York dude his mom and Nathan wanted him to be in this scene than he did even in a tuxedo. Strange.

Poor Isaac, who foresaw his own death and met it with surprising grace. Loved Hiro vs. Hiro, particularly all the strings and clippings--it must be hard to keep track of where all the different bits of past and future cross and change, and that seems like a very intuitive (if complicated and difficult to penetrate) system for keeping track of how Hiro could go back and change things. I also like that Hiro set himself up in Isaac's old apartment--where everything changed for him, where everything changed for them all.

but why would Sylar repaint something that Isaac's already done?

He's never seen it before. How would he know it hasn't been painted before? Not to mention, when the whole cheerleader thing was going on, Peter finished the painting Isaac started, so obviously more than one person utilizing the power can see the same thing.

I loved the reveal that Mama Petrelli was also a power--it makes you wonder what she might be hiding about her husband's death. I love that now there's this backstory of an older generation of powers, and how awesome it is that they can bring in other actors we haven't seen as much of recently now, like Eccleston or dude-wot-plays-Linderman.

I wonder if Papa Petrelli had powers at all. Maybe Nathan and Peter are SOL (Sons of Linderman).

I do find it interesting that Linderman claims that he was once part of a group of supers, and that a couple decided to use their powers for their own self-interest. I wonder if one of the two was Linderman himself.

I asumed he meant Papa Patrelli, although I'm less sure having seen Mama. Although maybe the Petrelli parents were working at cross-purposes. (A sort of Mr & Mrs. Smith with superpowers)

That was an awesome moment for me because I had a crazy uncle that did that. He was the most entertaining man ever, but also more than a bit off. Every inch of his walls were covered with pictures, articles, menus, and whatever else he found interesting. When he ran out of room he ran clothes lines back and forth all over the living room. It was lovely to remember Uncle Billy.

Love the older generation Heroes. How will they ever keep the youngins under control?
