Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I've never had a relationship like this before, where I *knew*, with total assuredness, that I could count on him. And I've never had a relationship where my love wasn't treated like (to some degree) an inconvenience.

Teppy is me. OMG! We're very pretty.

From ages ago, and probably no longer useful, but Nora, I'd be happy to talk to you about gender studies and gender inequality any time you like. My brain is indeed brimming.

Always useful because I'm always thinking about this stuff too. You may hear from me in email once I get going on my next essay AND annotated bibliography! I did figure out a question to ask myself and answer, based on the sources I need to cite in the answering essay. Hopefully it will hold up once the writing begins...

Mostly lurking...

Oh, nice doctor boy just called again and apologized profusely for not getting to me sooner last night. He thinks it was probably vertigo and not related to the clonidine. I'm just supposed to watch myself for the next few days.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I'm just supposed to watch myself for the next few days.

As if you wouldn't without his saying so. I'm glad he called and was apologetic.

Timelies!!

Aimee - years and years ago K-Bug got bit in the tush at day care when she was playing on the monkey bars. The biter wanted his turn and her tush was hanging at mouth level. We still tease her about that kid cause a few years after that he had quite the crush on her. Wonder where he is now. Hmmmm, hard to picture him as 16/17. (Oy, K-Bug turns 17 later this month!)

vw, I'm glad the nice doctor boy finally got back to you.

ND, it's very likely that if they want to make you an offer you'll get a preliminary call that goes something like, "We're not making this offer but if we were to make you this offer would you accept?" because it's not worth their time to go all the way through the UC system just to have you turn something down, and that will be the point where you say, "Give me mo' money!". Because of the way UC salaries work, it's VERY IMPORTANT that you get appointed at the highest level possible because you're locked in after that. After that preliminary call, there will be another wait until you actually see something in writing.

And then they'll tell you about the loyalty oath that you have to sign.

Signed,

Been hired by UC, Sat on Search Committees for UC, Sat on the Peer Review Committee for UC, etc.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

You may hear from me in email once I get going on my next essay AND annotated bibliography!

Not a problem. I have a pretty good list of resources from my past papers, too.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Is that the one where they make you join the Liberal Secular Humanist Pagan Plot to Destroy America?

Liberal Secular Humanist Feminist Homosexual Pagan Plot to Destroy America, actually. Too bad they never made the gov. Arnold sign it.

brillig

Brain drugs are interesting things. Hubby's been dealing with perfectly understandable depression due to the pain etc., and he was on Zoloft for awhile. It did nothing for him. He's been on a new one--utter brain wipe on the name--for a bit over a week, and people who talk to him less than once a week are saying, "Wow, what's got you in such a good mood all of a sudden?" He's dealing with some physical side effects, but he said he's more than happy to put up with them for having the gut ripping despair lifted.

I just don't want to hear my husband cry anymore. Yay, drugs.

YES. That is how I got screwed in my current job here. Of course, they never actually offered me to job officially, just put the paperwork in and expected me to be happy, but I digress.
