Take jobs as they come -- and we'll never be under the heel of nobody ever again. No matter how long the arm of the Alliance might get, we'll just get ourselves a little further.

Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I didn't take it that way at all, sweetie. Like I said, this is a HUGE HUGE hot button for me.

Whew. Ok.

shakes it off

I left her a message to get better clarification on what she thinks she meant.

... and ND, if you're reading this, I spent 8+ years as an academic in the UC system. There's no way they could get a job offer out in 2 weeks -- its just the nature of the beast. Any offer will have to get the okay from the Dean, the Provost, the Budget committee, etc. Re-set your clock for a month (at least).

Mostly lurking...

Provisionally, because you never know with dates, but having someone you know think someone else would like you, that's pretty cool.

Exactly. It's kind of comforting. Or reassuring. Or something. This is the same girl who thinks I'm "really fun," so I have some hope of it following through.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

GC, consider the argument that Google should not be the gatekeeper of the world's information (it's been the job of libraries/librarians/universities -- have we failed?)

Good one, Sparky! Thanks!

I was waiting for you and/or Rick to come around and back me up.

What is even happening?

Can one be a psychologist and crazy at the same time?

Oh heaven, yes. Do you know any? That's nearly like asking if one can be female and a woman at the same time.

Good one, Sparky! Thanks!

You're welcome. Also, is it wise to make a company the repository of these things? Companies come and go, universities last.

I'm just making this up while we're having catalog connectivity problems, so I'm cursing the technology at the moment.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, blind date, vw! I'm partial to the idea because that is how I met TCG. Although, I really really really didn't want to meet him, so I can understand nervousness on your part.

ImemeN. My landlord is a bitca. They're showing our apartment at 8:30 Saturday morning. TCG has had a lousy week and really wanted to sleep in. Time to check apartments on Craigslist again.
