Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

And now I feel fucked-up because I'd like to see Brian Wilson meander his way through the stories of the week, and etc.

erika, you made me choke on my birthday. Whee!

I met a guy for coffee today. Probably not an earth shattering event for most folks, but I haven't even done that much with an available fella in over eight years, so I'm calling it good. I don't think he's that into me, but we had fun talking about fannish stuff. Decent coffee, too.

Calli, Buffy would warn you off of having coffee with boys, but I say coffee with nice boys is both good practice, and nice for making good friends, even if there's no earth enshatterment going on.

Erm, by not wearing jeans or trousers? I know, not the answer for everyone.

I'm probably as devoted to trousers as you are to dresses and skirts, but if I had to have my hind quarters peeking out all the time, I'd go all skirts/dresses, all the time.

Jilli, do you wear sweats or jammies or the like around the house, when your cleaning or just crashing or whatever?

I bought some hamentaschen yesterday and they are of the yum. Glad I stumbled uppon that bakery.
-t, what is this? I saw Hil mention it in conjunction with Purim the other day. I just read Esther last week, or the week before (or somewhere during the sick weeks, at any rate), I read it with no memory of when Purim falls, so it was kind of neat to see it come so soon after.

OH! Cindy! I saw a boy who looked like Logan on the train the other day. He caught me staring at him. Twice. Oops.

If he'd caught you a third time, he would have gotten to keep you, vw.

Not long after I found the Bronze, a gas station between my house and the children's pre-school was being completely redone. They dug up the underground tanks and everything, I think. Anyhow, there was a construction worker there who, at least from my vantage point in the driver's seat, looked just like Spike. He was frequently shirtless, and he had the tousled hair look, rather than the slicked back look.

I used to give Cashmere and our friends genrefan and abt, daily updates at the Bronze.

eta...

Thanks, Gris. You're so sweet. And beth, it was a very nice day.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hamentaschen are Purim cookies. Make a fairly basic cookie dough, roll out, cut out circles, put a spoonful of jam or preserves or something (poppy seed paste is actually traditional, but I prefer apricots or prunes), and fold up the sides to make a triangle, with a bit of the filling showing in the middle. Bake. Eat. Yum.

Damn. I'm never gonna get this stuff figured out. There's so many rules!

I'm getting the pig!

Happy Birthday, Cindy!

It sounds like you had a lovely (and well deserved) day. Books and jammies and chocolate and cards and cake AND mix cds of your favorite happy songs? Oh, my!

I just started reading the first Dresden book, and so far I'm enjoying it. Needless to say, I'm very jealous of the TBR pile you've got going.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

NICOLE!

I need to send you some books.

Thanks, Hil. I think I have had the poppy side type. There are few cookies I've missed -- none intentionally.

My new year's resolution (which makes so much more sense to start on your birthday than on January 1, unless your birthday is on or right around January 1, in which case you're screwed) is to eat more like a healthy, adult human. I'm not even going for weight loss. I just think I might put some more food in my food.

Damn. I'm never gonna get this stuff figured out. There's so many rules!
Whenever someone brings up rules (or The Rules or The Rules Girls), I always think the Bitches should write a book.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

What Hil said. The bakery Igot mone at had 5 flavors, so I had to get them all. Because it would be irresponsible not to know which flavors were best. And 2 of the poppy so we'd have an even number to share. So far, I like the cherry the best.

Oh, and literally, Hamen's ears, or hats, depending on who you ask. May his name be blotted out.

That's a nice coincidence that your reading was so timely, Cindy. I always like it when that happens.

I think that's a good plan.

Damn. I took my meds an hour ago. I'm not even starting to get sleepy. And I have to be up around 5 a.m. This might be fun.

Maybe I can catch up to you. I'm very excited. Usually, when Scott asks me what I'd like for my birthday, I can't come up with anything, but this time, I did suggest the books. I never like to be too specific, because then I won't be surprised.

Yes. It's your duty, particularly as a newish convert. I mean, you have a lifetime of learning to catch up on.

Oh, and literally, Hamen's ears

Oh, I knew that, once upon a time. I like the ears version much better. And yes, ptui, we shall speak of him no more.

Somebody needs to rein me in. I'm listening to my happy music and getting all sorts of plot bunnies for The Office schmoop fic. Probably song schmoop fic. Bad fic at its baddest.
