Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Wait! Are you dating Brock Sampson?

::snerk::

2 a.m. and I'm wide awake, which is okay, since I don't have work tomorrow. The Boy just left and I'm seriously considering making an ice cream run.

Graeters is long since closed for the night, unfortunately. It's UDF or nothing. Fortunately, UDF is 5 minutes from my apartment. Which is making me wonder -- why am I still sitting here typing when I could be getting ice cream?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Whoo, look at Teppy go on the late night ice cream assault team.

Meantime, I'm exploring the wonders of digital cable. I've got literally hundreds of channels. This is basically my entertainment budget. They keep adding channels and I wonder: "There's a military channel?"

I know that at various times certain cable channels survived by endlessly rehashing WWII. But still. There's a channel with shows called "Weaponology: Sniper Rifles."

Also there's a Soap channel which apparently has Friday recaps of All My Children, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and a couple others.

See, I spend a fair amount of time tracking down super obscure movies that aren't shown on regular cable and I'm boggled that it's somebody's full-time job to do DOOL recaps and histories of sniper rifles.

WTF? Where are my Joy Division and Cramps videos?

This is entirely coeval with my bogglement at the size of NASCAR fandom. I understand that people follow car racing. I can't help but boggle at how many follow it. Roller derby makes more sense to me.

eta: This post posted in full knowledge that there are Soap and NASCAR fans hereabouts. Not a provcation just a notation on the difference between perceived culture and the evidence of actual culture.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm sure that somewhere out there, there's a crazed SPN fan who really wants the combo pack of those two jobs.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.
