Because books.

Oh my gods, One Tin Soldier. I haven't heard that song in ... wow, I don't even know.

The doctor has had my mom on a low dose of Prednisone for over a year, to keep her lupus vasculitis symptoms under control.

I don't think I've ever heard of lupus vasculitis! Learn something new, as they say. And yeah, a low dose is optimum.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Mom just learned a sad truth. Calling me after I caught part of a Lifetime movie will lead to me telling her how to have affairs with her friend's sons. With names. Cause I know her. Turned her into a stammery thing. It was fun. She started telling me how this artist guy is soooo cool, basically. Which, he is. And I know this because I went to school with him. Poor stammery mom...

Oh, and she's putting a new roof on the house.

And considering flooring. Eternally.

[Yeah, she'd hate knowing some of the things I will talk about on the interwebs.]

Now tagless for your comfort.

tiggy, is anyone doing construction around your house or work? Have you been close to where someone is getting a new roof? Those nails can sometimes linger for MONTHS as our roofers a couple years ago managed to leave a few in our yard and the street.

I hate flat tires.

Mmm...after a little troubleshooting our ancient printer, it appears to be kaput. It was free and it's at least 7 years old so I won't complain but still. I hate the thought of replacing it. But we really do need a cheap printer around the house for directions, DH's work, etc.

unfortunately work is right next to railroad tracks and CSX is constantly out there working on it and leaving behind little gems. plus, we have a gravel driveway and that's just a breeding ground for every possible tire slashing thing out there.

i've probably had 3 or 4 flats since i started working there. back in october, when i had the other one, 4 other people had flat tires that month too. it's ridiculous, but the boss won't pave the whole driveway and getting the CSX guys to clean up after themselves is apparently asking too much.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I would say text messaged, akin to how I say instant messaged. Message is totally a verb.

Pain! Painkillers!

Man, if they weren't restricted and expensive, I think I'd shortcut to being an addict. Why should I wait until I'm in pain to take them? I know I'm going to be in pain soon.

I appall me with the med juggling, but so far every combination I've run by a pharmacist gets the thumbs up. My instincts seem clear. It's just so damned rare one pill makes anything go away.

The 4mgs of dilaudid I had last week made the pain go down to a 5/10. Made me stumble and ramble like a drunk. Not fun. Visit before was phenergan and dilaudid. Which reminds me--you can get a script for suppository anti-nausea pills, and wait until they kick in to take the painkillers.

I've had morphine, which took no pain away, but I didn't care. Nurse asked if I wanted a second dose, and I demurred because I was trying to keep it together and converse sanely with Burrell's very DH who had accompanied me to the ER.

God, I'm twitchy and irritable tonight. Too many unrelated things hurt, and it's the sort of migraine that makes me pace and grit my teeth, not the one that makes me want to hide from the world. Or make phone calls I know I'll regret.

Sometimes time passes too slowly. I'd like to already be asleep, or at least not have my stomach, shoulder, and skull hurt.
