[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Word of the day:
This week's theme: There is a word for it.
omphaloskepsis (om-fuh-lo-SKEP-sis) noun
Contemplation of one's navel.
"Readers whose main interest is literary how-to or criticism can look elsewhere, in places specifically dedicated to those matters. Doing too much of it here would smack of omphaloskepsis."
Stanley Schmidt; About Science Fiction; Analog Science Fiction & Fact (New York); Jun 2001.

Fuckin' omphaloskepsis hatas!
I recently switched from "pubically" to "publicly" because my students' dictionaries all spelled it the latter way. It bugs the heck out of me, but I'm trying to get used to it.
Timelies all. I'm up and have brewed coffee (though have not yet consumed said coffee) and am about to being Day One of the Great Grading Caper. (I'm trying to make it sound like a Muppet movie so that there's the possibility of unexpected hijinks or bears in Studebakers.)
I'm omphaloskepsizing right now AIFG!
t /lunch is over, runs away
I hope vw & Nora are having a nice lunch. I want to hug them both, but will have to be satisfied with them hugging each other.

But if you don't stand up, who will? You're letting the prescriptivists win!
we had a lovely lunch! SO GOOD to see The Bug again. wheee!
Also, my dr. appt. was good. Also, Aimee, it turns out I *wasn't* taking the Extended Release, as I thought, so you were right, that's exactly what he prescribed for me to take all first thing in the morning.
Yay Extended release!
Yay, Nora! I'm glad you were able to get that fixed without a lot of hassel. I hope you are able to sleep with the new pills.
