Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Cute girl sprog in pretty dresses!

Some of my favorite clothes were hand-me-downs, in part because they reminded me of whoever they came from. My grandmother gave my sister and I velvety long dresses with embroidered bodices that my mom kept after we outgrew them, and my niece claimed my sister's as sooon as she was big enough to wear it without tripping. She wore it all the time - climbed trees in it, played softball, whatever. It eventually started wearing out. Niece decided that had to be because her mom wore it too much as a child, used it all up before she got it.

I liked LA well enough when I lived there, and I'd go back if I had a reason to. I left because I woke up one morning in February and realized I had no idea what day it was or even what time of year and felt the need to go somewhere that had seasons. No telling if that would kick in again - I didn't see it coming at all.

I hear a lot of people say that about LA. I think LA has seasons. They're just subtle. And maybe a little random sometimes. But there's seasons.

Though I do get why people say that.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Timelies.

LA is Right Out for me because I love not having to have a car. Also, the air quality is a huge issue for me. And the heat & dry. And the sprawl. But I will happily visit my peeps.

The status is NOT quo.

There are some routes that are always going to suck (see: Kristin's commute to school), but for most others, if you study hard, pay attention, and have a good teacher, there are all kinds of alternate routes to keep you moving.

The traffic is much worse for new people than it is for people who've been driving in the city for a while.

Very true. And at this point I do have several alternate routes and work-arounds, but sadly nothing that changes the fact that my commute does, indeed, suck. Honestly, it's the rigid school schedule that kills me. If I wasn't forced to commute during rush hour both ways, it wouldn't be so bad.

I've found the air quality in Pasadena to be better than when I lived in the Valley, fwiw.

Oh, and did I mention that it's 80 degrees and sunny right now, with a nice cooling breeze? This is definitely a plus for living in SoCal.
