It's cold here. I am at school again after two days off. I am totally reorganizing my room, because I got new, tall bookshelves, but it's a PITA because, you know, TEACHING.
And I have grades due, and my throat hurts.
EDIT: Oh, and I think I'm a broad.
Cindy, is the main disease something in the cold and flu family? The dripping from the nose can irritate the stomach lining when you're lying down and make you throw up. I did that when I was a kid before they discovered how bad my allergies were.
My sister was staying late at the office to make sure her son got home first to shovel. We really don't want her to do it. She broke her ankle last year slipping on her deck hanging Christmas lights. And she has had a knee replacement. She still shovels, because never ending battle, but my nephew tries to keep it done as much as possible.
That icy mix stuff is crazy heavy to shovel. Lots of be safe thoughts headed in a northerly direction.
So I now feel like a chore. Yeah. It kinda sucks.
So sorry Maria. It sucks to feel like you have to hold up the romantic/emotional end of the relationship.
Skimmed quickly previous hundreds of posts since I was away yesterday.
Belated Happy Anniversary to Deena and Greg!
Oh, and he didn't obviously read the card because it was one you give your wife WHEN THE GODDAMNED KIDS FINALLY LEAVE THE HOUSE.
I'm sorry Maria. I was so miserable over Christmas that DH was sure to get a card and some more rose bushes for the garden. Your card story made me smile though because it brought back a dad memory. One year dad bought my mother a lovely card because he liked the inside message and never noticed that the outside was "To My Sweetheart in the Service." We teased him for a long time about that one.
I have given the children fair warning and advance notice that they are expected to give me cards for my birthday. Or else.

Being out of town for V-Day kept this at bay for me. Though I guess for me it is a bit more the other way around. I try to get something simple and thoughtul and he gets the convenience store cheesy crap. Together for over 19 years and he still hasn't figured out that a simple card would mean more than a singing/dancing stuffed animal.
The dentist appointment is cancelled. I am way too scared to go outside.

Probably, Ginger. All three children had the flu shot, and it doesn't seem to be the flu, proper, but I think the main disease -- the virus that mostly manifest as a fever -- is cold related.
It's funny you mention this, because I was just talking to Julia about it. She said she was coughing before she threw up. Now, she doesn't have much of a cough -- not compared to what the boys and I have had. She hardly coughs all day, but I was just thinking about post-nasal drip. I had that happen to me when I was a kid, too. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish I had seen her throw up.
sj, I think you made the right choice. It's treacherous out there. And it's so cold.

I'm way to scared of the dentist.
Cindy, sometimes I have coughed so hard
I've thrown up.
