Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey. New board.

Gronk.

Yesterday, I got out of school a little early, and decided that instead of doing any work, I would make little valentine's bags (a couple of pieces of chocolate, a homemade card) for the cast and crew of Spring Awakening, see the show standing room, and deliver the gifts at the stage door.

This was, generally, an excellent plan. The show is actually really good from standing room (and I'm a teacher, so it's not like I have problems standing for 2 hours), the cast loved the valentines, and I met one of the other big fans (who's seen it even more times than I). Unfortunately, the temperature dropped over 10ยบ DURING the show, so it was rather freezing waiting for everybody to come out, and none of the cast talked to us for more than a minute or two (not that I blame them at all. Seriously, it was COLD.)

Now, of course, I'm wondering if it was a smart move. I have my formal Principal's observation today and I have a decent number of things to do to prepare for the lesson that I could have done yesterday. I have 2 hours before school starts, but still: will my decision bite me in the ass? I guess we'll see!

Because books.

{{{Maria}}}

Poor Fay, with the Barney drama!

I love hearing about the Kara and Aidan show.

{{{Julia}}} A spiking fever could definitely cause that, Cindy. Poor kid. Your household needs a break, like NOW.

I'm all sneezy and sniffly this morning.

What is even happening?

Thanks, sj.

Yeah, at this point a stomach virus makes no sense. She didn't eat much yesterday, but she did eat some. She had crushed ice early in the morning, and crackers later on. She had toast around 2pm. She had chicken noodle soup around 7pm. She drank water, and ginger ale, and kept it all in without incident. She then got sick at 5am. It doesn't compute. Besides, this morning, she has no appetite, but says her belly feels fine.

Generally, doctors say not to wake a kid in the night to treat a fever, but I think my little girlfriend is going to be woken around midnight, tonight for a dose of something or other, just to see if it makes a difference.

I am having HORRIBLE mommy guilt, because I didn't wake for either incident. The night before last, I fell asleep on the couch, so I can see why. This morning, I was in bed, right next to Scott. I told him he should wake me. I'm trying to figure out why I don't feel grateful to have slept through it.

I'm trying to decide if I should cancel my dentist appointment for this afternoon. I am afraid of driving and of falling on the ice. I called TCG to see how bad it was out there, but he didn't call me back yet.

Because books.

I am, once again, glad to be a girl in a house full of boys. There's another foot of snow in the driveway -- the front end of my FiL's car is completely gone, due to the snow and how it drifted. We have to get out to the grocery store today, but I'm not going to be the one shoveling.

I feel awful for the guys, though. Especially since we're supposed to get more lake effect snow tonight, and they'll probably have to shovel all over again tomorrow.

Our wings are not tired.

{{Cindy and family}} No mommy guilt allowed! I hope you and Julia get some relief and rest today.

I feel awful for the guys, though.

Ah, they'll get all buff and stuff from the shovel work out.

Yeah, well, I'm just hoping my gorgeous, loving 42-year-old husband WHO NEVER EXERCISES and refuses to watch what he eats doesn't have apoplexy.

I felt so guilty when Dave was shovelling yesterday and this morning, especially since he didn't bitch and complain about it, which is what my stepfather did when I lived at home.
