I can't even.
I can always ask the building manager to take out some of the flourescent bulbs. If I could just cut them in half it would be tolerable. Or possibly a nice table lamp instead.
Just reach up and move the bulb slightly out of the ballast, and viola, half as much obnoxious light. I have the maintenance guys at my work trained not to re-adjust them.
