All is well in Chez Zmayhem. Thanks for all the good thoughts. It was mostly Sturm and Drang yesterday, but it has all passed.
We took Matilda over to see EM this morning, so she could soak up some baby goodness. Matilda was cute and chatty with her, so that was nice.
They're moved into their new place which is behind multiple layers of gates and security, so EM's psycho ex shouldn't be able to drop by. EM's new beau helped pay for an attorney to come to an agreement with the PsychoEx that should take care of moneys owed and cutting down on the contact. Theoretically anyway. PsychoEx is still being a total freakass shit-head.
Their new apt is nice. Beautiful high ceilings in the living area with skylights, and a fireplace. They've got a pool in the complex and a training room (which Emmett intends to use) and laundry in the apartment. Emmett went on and on about his padded toilet seat (very cushy!).
After that I met up with my two coaches for the upcoming Little League season and we talked about the draft (this week) and how we like to run practice and just got to know each other. I think we're going to have a really good team this year.
New apt. sounds nice. I'm glad they're in a security bldg with that asshead running around.
Remember when we had the ING discussion? GF and I are now opening a joint checking account with them. Anyone done that? GF also said they had an ad for ING mortgage with no points. I'm interested but wondered if any of y'all have investigated/done this...
Gloomcookie, my DH and I have a joint checking account with them, and it works okay. We still have a paper account for when we want to leave a paper trail, but that's a no-cost-to-us account that we usually just leave $50 in when we're not needing the paper trail. They advertise the mortgate a lot, but we're not quite ready for a mortgage, yet. Ask again in 12 months.
We went to Baltimore today to visit with a cousin of mine, her DH and daughter. It was a nice, lazy was to spend a Sunday.
Things I've noticed about D.C./Area: The stop lights are long. People on the metro are much more polite about getting on/off, but haven't a clue about standing to the right on an escalator.
And Sparky, looks like you're here just in time for the Big Storm forecast for Tuesday....
EFT Typo
On our way x-country, we woke up to snow at the Grand Canyon, in Gallup, NM, Dallas, and Nashville. It's obviously all my fault, or possibly my DH's. Although I hope that the storm blows through on Tuesday, because on Wednesday we fly to Paris.
Thanks for the info, Sparky. Also, sooooo jealous of your trip to Paris!!!!!!
Did I mention here that we have a dinner date with the Dean of the international business school? [link] I used to babysit for his kids. Both kids now make more money than I do.
Way late to the party but I finally installed Firefox and I think I'm in love. I have an adorable pink theme, tabs, and more to explore! Woot!
Hee. I resisted Firefox for yeeeeears, thinking I had no need for tabbed browsing. Now I lurve it.
Waves to thread! Hi all! Boise is......well, kinda cold and rainy. Much like the Bay Area has been.
I'm all checked in and waiting for room service to deliver my dinner. The front desk clerk was all "wow, you are here for a long stay". When I worked front desk, 5 days was on the longer side for business travelers, but not unusual. Interesting.
Lee is a wonderful host, for anyone who has not yet experienced her graciousness. Thanks for a fun visit, my dear.
