[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Raq, so glad to hear you are okay. Thank you for checking in before I read the news and had a not-so-mild freak out.

move out and draw fire

I just got back from the embassy (yeah, I went in, this sort of thing is kinda my job), and the damage is really minimal. A Greek terrorist group claimed it, protesting the increase in troop strength in Iraq (right there with you, guys), maybe the Hussein execution, maybe the breakup of Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz.

Kind of a media circus down there. And the crazies who think the CIA engineered the 9/11 attacks are out in force, so that's fun.

I'm so glad this was "let's pop a rocket at a symbol of America, nicely choosing an hour when it's unlikely anybody will be at work" terrorism rather than "let's kill some American diplomats" terrorism. I mean, they still could have killed someone (note to self: your early bird tendencies could be dangerous; see also 9/11), but it's a relief they weren't really trying to.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Raq, it was the first thing I heard this morning. I'm glad you're okay.

What is even happening?

Me, too, Raq. I think maybe I already posted, but I can't remember, and it bears repeating, anyhow.

I hadn't had any coffee when I read Raq's original post, and it took me a couple of minutes to parse RPG into what I assume is rocket propelled granade.

(Yes. I was stuck on 'role playing game'.)

Our wings are not tired.

I gather that we're talking about some kind of explosive, rather than a Role Playing Game?

Yep, many minds went there.

maybe the breakup of Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz

At last a reason that makes sense.

Good to hear that no one was injured. Still, totally not cool.

Windsparrow, my loved ones finally made me go to the doctor for my cough. Stupid allergies. He told me I needed to close my windows and turn the A/C back on. Still, it had gone on long enough and was bad enough that I had to have him check.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Although I hate being all insecure to meet somebody's eye and it took me forever to learn to make pleasant chat with strangers cause they would say "hey," and I would think "You're not gonna bug me about Jesus right? And let's keep those hands where I can see 'em, cowboy."
I. Love. erika. Hugely, really.

It means she gets to spend time with her family before our wedding, and it's been a while since she's seen them. Marrying me also means she's choosing to stay in Australia, so it's good they have some time together.
billytea is also a damn good human.

Though I have been known to give myself away with the occasional OMGECHIDNASRSOKEWL!!!
Eh. I'm Californian (okay, Oregonian but I am still getting used to this skin) and OMGEchidnasAreSoCool! And I made the nephlet think so as well after dragging him to the San Diego Zoo over and over again. He still likes the naked mole rats better though. I think it was the backwards and forwards zooming whilst often running over their friends. The derby of animals, if you will.

A Greek terrorist group claimed it, protesting the increase in troop strength in Iraq (right there with you, guys), maybe the Hussein execution, maybe the breakup of Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz.
Well they were a kinda interesting couple. I certainly wanted to root for those crazy kids to make it after all.

I am very glad that no one was hurt and that you've checked in.

Raq, I'm glad to hear you and R are okay. Scary, scary, living in cities where you know you can be a target.

Andi, go to the doctor. What vw said about bronchial asthma. BTDT on a number of occasions. Any cough over two weeks should be looked at.

I'm at work, I have coffee, I'm bored.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I went to the doctor the day before yesterday and my constant cough companion turned out to be a sinus infection. I'm somewhat better after only two doses of the antibiotic, forgot the name but is not Levaquin, for which my wrists thank me.

Raq, I'm so glad you and R are okay and that no one was hurt.

The last two weeks we've been teetering about in the no sleep zone. Kara won't go down, Aidan gets up in the middle of the night and climbs into bed with us to play after waking the dog, late night trying to get work done before bed... Greg and I are both so tired we're cross-eyed. Aidan fell back asleep, so I'm about to go back to bed for a little bit.

Raq, I'm so glad that everyone (especially you and DH) are ok.

Sail, you want to help me with my work? You can call nice (or not-so-nice) parents and offer them free money!
