Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I didn't keep track of things when I was reading today, because I was catching up on the phone, but:
Thanks for all the ~ma for my friend today. I don't know anything about the lump removed from her liver yet, because I haven't returned the phone call to her husband. I am a bad person and I am afraid I will cry on the phone, so I'll call him tomorrow.
Whoever said I should plan to give myself a break the day after a class ends, you're absolutely right, and I will from now on. I still had a little bit of tummy trouble today, but not quite as bad.
{{{JZ}}} I'm sorry that going back to work has been so stressful for you.
Very interesting diet talk today. I have been reading You: On a Diet and The Best Life Diet in the hopes of figuring out how to lose some weight, so I can ease some of the stress on my joints and hopefully be in less pain. So far, no weight loss though. I sucked at Weight Watchers, so I gave up on that.
Continued health~ma to the Cindy household.
~ma and hugs to anyone I missed.
Awww, thanks. Work isn't really stressful so much as boring (they took away almost all my really interesting job duties while I was away because nobody else could do them, and now they've all been farmed out to anonymous hospital-system-based transcriptionists and I'll never get them back), plus my beloved boss is now semi-retired and only there three or four days a week, and I just deeply resent being there.
It is lovely working with him, though -- yesterday we were in the clinic and doing our usual routine of him talking into the dictaphone while I fill things in and correct him every time he hesitates or stumbles, and I said, "Dear God, we're Colonel Blake and Radar" and he laughed until I thought he was going to choke on his uvula. But he's not around enough! And there isn't enough work even when he is around!
Interview for a different, more challenging and higher-paid job on Monday, and in the meantime they're scared of losing me so they may cobble together some new job duties and try to relabel me an Admin. Analyst, so it's not all gloom and misery.
Except that I still miss Matilda, who is getting so sweet and engaging and full of coos and gurgles and sly conspiratorial grins I can hardly bear it. Man, if we were Swedish or something (basically, any non-USian Western nation), I'd still have another year of maternity leave to go.
Is anyone up and around?
I am.
I am, too. I'm not sure how helpful the time frame is, though.
ETA: Oh, ok, not too far off.
vw, are you ok?
hi, guys. Um...just trying to check in with reality a bit. Having kind of a rough night.
It probably doesn't help to consolidate your reality to tell you that in my world it's half past three in the afternoon, right?
Fay, hee! Well, here it's 3:25 a.m., so... Well, now I know we're exactly 12 hours off!
