happy birthday Aidan
Happy Birthday, Aidan!
Happy Birthday, Aidan!!!
Sparky, much settling-in to you!
Raq -- you're in the U.S., right now? I've been skipping even more than I thought. I love the mental image of Mal kissing his friend goodbye.
The method that finally worked for me was to take a big gulp of water and hold it in my mouth, then tip my head back so that the water stayed put when I opened my mouth again, drop the pill into the middle of the pool, then swallow the gulp of water before the pill hits the back of my mouth.
To this day, it is the only way I can swallow pills.dcp, thank you. I will have Ben try this, the next time he's up to trying. I had a hard time, too. I have a whole little system, but it didn't work for him.
I think I learned how to swallow pills by practicing with Tic-Tacs first. This is so smart, Hil. I was thinking M&Ms, but who wants to waste an M&M?
(Also, when he's first trying it out, watch him while he's doing it until you're sure he can swallow the pills without trouble. The four-year-old son of a friend of my father's recently died from choking on a pill.)Oh, how awful! I do always stay with all of them anyhow, to make sure they take all their medicine.
Our Ben still has problems swallowing pills, Cindy. He does better with the gel-coated capsules, but powdery tablets are hard. Stephen wet one with his fingertip and rolled it in sugar, and got him to swallow them that way.Oh, another good idea! Thanks, Amy (and Stephen).
You can buy a pill cup at most drug stores. It has a little shelf in it, you fill it with water, put the pill on the shelf and then drink it down. Also a friend of mine recently suggested putting the pill Under my tongue and it works like a charm! You never taste the pill and when you take the drink of water the pill surfs the wave right down your throat.
Thanks, Laga. The pill kept ending up under his tongue. Maybe if he starts out there, it will end differently. I'll have to look for that pill cup, too.

GOOD GIRL, EM!!!!!!!!!
I'm so proud of her, Aimee. Of course she's a girl, so she's going to have more common sense, anyhow. t /sexist
Sometimes I have trouble swallowing big pills (like the new ones I've been taking). One thing I do is drink some water before I try to swallow the pill, I think it's harder to swallow if my mouth is a little dry. This is what I do too, askye. I take a drink. Then I put the pill as far back as I can, then I chug-a-lug more water, until the pill goes down. He just couldn't, and these pills were huge. By the way, jobma to you.
red sticky liquid penicillin that you had to keep in the refrigerator. That was so nasty that I still don't really like anything cherry flavored or what I think of as "red flavored," since there doesn't seem to be any connection between it and actual cherries.Yes and ugh. Ginger, that penicillin was the worst. I threw up every time I took it.
Meanwhile, in mememe news - isn't Last dot fm a splendid thing? I'm most impressed. Go Team Interpipe! I tell it my favourite artist is Eddi Reader and it armed with this information it provides me with a lplaylist of a load of people I haven't heard of whom it thinks I may enjoy! My own personal radio station! Good Job, Computery Thing!
Fay, even better, I've found, is Pandora. Much better sound quality and prettier interface and the ability to set up different stations based on different factors. I listen to it at work all day, and I've found some great music.
I think you can do something between Last and Pandora. Ugh. Someone told me what it was a while back, but I've lost track. If I dig it up, I will post it, here. I had a major Pandora addiction over the holidays, but I've since deleted a lot of my stations and then over-programmed, trying to get a specific sound. I have to start over, I think.
Cindy, I was so impressed with her. Jay felt like crap, but he doesn't have little kids in his life that much, so why would he think about it?
{{{Cindy}}}
Silly boy children.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIDAN!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, VICTOR!!
Happy birthday, Aidan and Victor!
Cindy, I was so impressed with her. Jay felt like crap, but he doesn't have little kids in his life that much, so why would he think about it?You should be. I hope you praised her silly. That was always my thing with dangerous stuff -- if they brought it right to me, I'd make a big stinking deal about being so pleased and proud, and what a good boy or girl they were, and so smart.
Poor Jay. I bet he will never make that mistake again, and there was no harm and no foul this time -- because Em is GENIUS!!!
Silly boy children.
The same Christopher who ate the thing that was white, and square and looked like a tooth, but wasn't a tooth -- was helping me make brownies on Friday. I had him stirring while I got Ben some medicine, or something. He stopped stirring, and I when I told him to keep going, he said, "Mommy, these brownies are getting difficult to stir, because they are viscous." I pretty much stood there slack-jawed saying, "A yep. That's right. Yep. That they are."
I hope you praised her silly.
Oh yeah. Totally.
Oh, yes! It's Aidan's Birthday! Happy Birthday, you big boy!
Happy Birthday, Aidan!!!
