Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

my computer ate my post. Suffice it to say I spent 4 hours at the hospital tonight, with a co-worker (LOVE my school), making sure a student's parent got proper treatment.

How is it that when the white teachers showed up, all of a sudden the illegal, non-insured non-English speaking woman with chest pain, shortness of breath and greying vision got readmitted and X-rayed? When it was just her and her scared 16 y.o. daughter translating for her, she was being discharged with "unidentified stomach pain -- if shortness of breath and pain occurrs, see a medical professional" written on the discharge papers?

I am torn between being very proud of the people I work with and the school I am associated with, honored by my student's trust...and being appalled that society is still like this.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Erin, the thread tagline seems to mainly apply to the people at that hospital. Grrrr.

brillig

I'm tired of being precious and adored. I want to be competent and respected. After 20 years of marriage, I admit it's gratifying to have my husband gaze at me and say, "You're my anchor, I don't know what I'd do without you," but I'd like to hear, "That was brilliant!" sometime, too.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It is, indeed, time to bring this ship into the shore. And furthermore, it is time to stow away the oars. Forever.

I don't care that Vortex got to that bit before me. It's what was in my head to post, so I posted it.

I had other stuff to say... OH! Right. meara, if the doc wants you to have magnesium, it would be awfully silly of him to tell you to keep away from the chocolate. Hope he's on the right track and you've now got what you need.

Erin, you are a hero. All teachers are heroes, but here's to the heroes who go the extra mile....

FWIW, connie, you are here with us, which shows your good taste, and how brilliant you are. I'm proud to know you. I know that doesn't make up for your DH's blind spot.

Happy moving, Sparky!

How are you, Chikat?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Suzi - you would like one night at a very nice hotel - just you . no kids, no mom, no dh. Dvd's ,a good book, internet, wine, and room service. a long bath. possibly you have a friend join you , but really - quiet time all by yourself is what you need and want.

I know you are the gatekeeper for $$, but if that is your present from the whole family - it works. I think you need about 24 hours of breathing room.

BTW, for the next hour I know everything and I am right about everything. Then the wine will wear off.
