Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Could one of our UK Buffistas help me out? I'm trying to get my hands on the current issue of Kerrang! magazine. It's number 1142, and apparently has Fall Out Boy on the cover (no, they're not why I want it). I will, of course, pay for it and shipping. Help help?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ahhh, Ple pictures. It's been a while. (Note to self: alert Lizard to this fact). When I was in high school I used to hang out at the book store and flip through the big book of Hurrell's famous glamour photos of Hollywood stars. Jennifer Jones, Ava Gardner, Hedy Lamarr. It's like that looking at Ple pictures.

We've got baptism pictures! I'm not going to share the ones which show off my prodigious burgher's girth. Lord, I knew I'd achieved a new maximum weight but seeing yourself in profile is a whole new experience. Oh well, baseball season has started and I can run with the kids.

This one's for Bev

You talkin' to me?

Fambly! (my Dad on the left)

Happy Nana and Papiou

Matilda with bonnet (and Emmett sans bonnet)

Happy baby in pink!

What is even happening?

OH, look at all the beautiful Zmayhem! And no blood shed, either.

Beverly, that dress is absolutely perfect on Matilda.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Such lovely pictures! Baby!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

and the fact that we may may gain an smonster is extra cool.

Buh? Details, please! Also, eeeeeee!

The baptism went absurdly well, considering how mostly ill-prepared we were. Matilda looked angelic and acted likewise (except for the actual pouring on of water, and even so she perked up afterwards, possibly remembering warm baths she'd enjoyed in the past, and got a highly entertaining "Never had that happen with my clothes on before! More, please?" expression on her face). The Bev dress was perfect. Everyone found the chapel, nobody got lost, there were neither tears nor recriminations. David's dad sat up close and more or less saw everything. Everyone got all choked up. Singing happened. All the kids got to come up to the front and help bless the water. Matilda's head is still smelling extra-sweet from the oil.

And then afterwards, everyone found my dad's place without getting lost, the frittata didn't suck, there were only two injuries (a catscratch to our goddaughter, and Emmett getting kicked in the balls by a tiny but ferocious cousin; everyone recovered with the application of some cuddles and cosseting and sugary treats), all the grandparents got to soak up much baby goodness and clock plenty of snuzzling time, and we've made it home again in one piece, or at any rate in no more pieces than we started out.

Today: SUCCESS. More pictures to come.

What is even happening?

JZ, that's wonderful. I'm glad it turned out so well, and that everyone was able to be there.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Buh? Details, please! Also, eeeeeee!

Well, she's looking for jobs. And the jobs are looking at her. And hugging her.

Looking at linoleum makes me want to see Plei.

I'm glad the baptism went well, JZ.

Brunch was wonderful, but between that, not sleeping well, then hitting Target, Marshall's, and bed bath and beyond, I am beyond tired, and may need to take a nap.
