Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I made killer see-you-through-the-blizzard oatmeal for my kids when they were in school. Raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon, unsalted butter and cream. Oh, baby.

Oh, Bev, that sounds scrumptious.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh, Bev, that sounds scrumptious.

Thrive to spite them

Raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon, unsalted butter and cream.

Subsititue the cream for milk and that's the porridge that Mom would make when we were little. Not that we needed seeing through any blizzards.

I should have had oatmeal for breakfast. I might not be hungry right now.

I need to find my motivation. We have to make a diaper run, pick up a craigslist purchase and go to Michael's to pick up a print that I was having framed.

Tom makes our steel cut oats with both water and milk, and adds whatever dried fruit is around (currently raisins and apricots). I sweeten with Splenda (Tom sweetens with maple syrup) and flavorize with cinnamon. I'll stick a bit of greek yogurt in, for tang, and sprinkle some unsalted slivered almonds, for extra protein and crunch. Yum!

We have oatmeal about 3-4 times a week.

Librarian Warlord

I've always loved a little toasted coconut on my oatmeal.

smonster has been staying with me this week and tonight I might actually get to spend some time with her.

After you do get married, the same people will want to know when you're having babies. I'm always outraged when people ask me this question, whether they're related to me or strangers. So not their business, and yet I hear the question often.

Seriously. I have gotten in the habit of not prefacing anything with the phrase, "I have great news!"
