[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I'm getting the pig!

everytime my BP reading is taken on any visit, whatever doctor or nurse that's seeing me ALWAYS sounds SO surprised.

Same here. Genetics = odd.

I need to learn to say this to people. Especially when it is someone like my eye doctor.

But not when it is someone like, I dunno... me? I can still ask, right? Just not in front of other people. Or TCG. Right? I don't want to miss out on any news!!

Is there less of a health benefit from instant oatmeal? I'm just curious because I am lazy.

Good question, sj. I had an oatmeal cookie for breakfast. It was billed as a "Daybreak Bar" at Starbucks which makes one thing it's supposed to be healty, so I bought it to try. A little dry (they advertised moist!), but chock full of dried fruit and nuts.

Lovely pictures of the Buffista sprogs and their parents! My god, could you guys make prettier babies? I don't think so.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

People have been bugging me lately about when we're getting married. We're not even engaged yet.

Rolls. Eyes. Forever. People! What part of "none of your DAMN business" do you not understand?

Daniel and I get this all the time, too. Mostly my response has been, "That's under negotiation." But I'm getting really tempted to start saying, "We push the date back a year every time someone asks." It doesn't help that one of the group homes I work at is populated by a couple of women in their sixties who keep assuming that Daniel is my husband, and refer to him as such. I've gotten tired of correcting them.

It was really cute, though, to find Daniel's mom cheering for the present from me to be the seventh opened at Daniel's niece's baby shower (and thus indicate that I would be the next one to get pregnant, a tradition I'd never heard of before). Alas, they didn't find my package until almost the very end.

Of course not! My friends are allowed to ask anything they want, anytime they want. Family and acquaintances need to back off. Plus, you're not implying that it is awful that we're not married or that there is something wrong with that fact, just asking.

Well, they are just so caught up in their preconceived notions about what heart disease should look like, that it's very sad. And it's not like a person has to have high blood pressure to have stuff wrong with the old ticker.

ETA: Way too early in the morning for me to hold rational discourse. Now I'm worried that that what I said implies something about Nora's old ticker.... when that's not how I meant it.

I need a nap. Why are there so many staff meetings on my days off?

Phew. Especially considering I asked you something along those lines just recently (over the weekend?).

I came in early to get a few major time-suck reports out of the way and the damn office data universe isn't working. I've been here since 6am and I am finally off the phone with the (not so helpful) help desk. Today really isn't playing nice. Can we FF? Or maybe rewind?

FF sounds good to me. It's going to be another boring day here trying to find enough to keep my people busy. Maybe I can get them to break something so I have to fix it.

I think instant oatmeal strips off the outer layer of fiber-y goodness, which lessens the health benefit, but I don't think negates it entirely. Although, I could be wrong like a wrong thing.

I need a nap. Why are there so many staff meetings on my days off?

Dude! That's no day off! You'd best be getting paid for that BS!

"We push the date back a year every time someone asks."

That would be Teh Awesome! Heh.
