You do well to flee, townspeople! I will pillage your lands and dwellings! I will burn your crops and make merry sport with your more attractive daughters! Ha ha ha! Mark my words! Ooh! Ale! I smell delicious ale!

Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Hugs for the snow hating folks. You can come visit. I promise no snow. Ice chips may be found in tall tropical drinks.

Go AmyLiz! What a relief! Suzi - much job~ma Yay for Nora's granmother

Busy here. Ugh. Came into office before I ate breakfast, now is past lunch and only have consumed black coffee. Eyeing the microwave popcorn, but that doesn't seem like a good breakfast or lunch.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Heard on NPR this morning that they're estimating a 75% loss of the citrus and avocado crop.

I was afraid of that. Crap.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Huh. I actually bought clementines for the first time yesterday. I'm totally prescient.

I like frisson and darkling.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

they're estimating a 75% loss of the citrus and avocado crop.
Talked to my dad today and their neighbor's avocado grove has serious frost damage. Their trees are younger than my parent's so we are hoping that my parent's trees will be okay. It got down to 17 degrees. Teh hell?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Cholesterol lowering drugs also lower the amount of CoQ10 iin the body. CoQ10 is necessary for a lot of things, including making energy and keeping the heart healthy and keeping LDL cholesterol from oxidizing. Someone taking statins should also be taking lots of supplemental CoQ10. Heck, I do, and I'm not even on statins.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I would rather they put him on something, than tell him to change his diet or tell him it is only borderline

sj, do you know what his BP and cholesterol levels are?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sj, do you know what his BP and cholesterol levels are?

No, he took the results with him to work, because he was taking it with him to his appointment, but they were both listed as borderline high.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This isn't quite what I'd call Jilliesque, but now I really need proper Jilli wrapping paper.

giraffe mode

30 degrees this morning in Pasadena

This morning I had to take side streets into work through Manhattan Beach. There was frost/ice on roofs, lawns and cars. The worst was the ice in the gutters. CRAZY! Below 32 in in beachy LA? BRRRR!

75% loss of the citrus and avocado crop

Strawberries too.. very sad! The estimates I saw were a total loss of all Valencia oranges, and 70 to 75% of the navel oranges and lemons. A lot of the oranges in markets in the US come from CA so grab 'em now, 'cause in a couple of weeks they might be hard to find.
