Dana - Micole - you have mail.
Jim, I have to agree with Micole.
I'd rather someone porned with my monkeys, than monkeyed with my porn. IJS.
I don't think she's malicious as much as she's utterly clueless, but I swear to god, the inanities are driving me to drink. And the sheer frequency of her posts make it very difficult to ignore her, especially if you follow the Angel thread.
I think a warning is reasonable given some of her recent behavior at UnAmerican. The thing is, she might (and it's a big might) cut down her defensive lashing-out after the warning, but I just can't see her changing her style of posts to make them more comprehensible. And incoherence on its own would not merit a further official action.
Which makes me think that filter is really the way to go.
Exactly. Until the Filter is onstream, just ignore the problem.
I filter with ease so not a big deal for me. Pass the porn please. Hold the monkeys.
I agree with Jim (hi, Jim! don't I get e-mail? I can disagree with you if you like...) and with PaulJ and askye.
A) it's not a big deal and B) it's being made into a big deal because people are hesitant to use the moderation system currently in effect. Therefore, it all gets talked out endlessly HERE, and turned in to far too big a deal.
How long is long enough to wait when you know that the unofficial notice/intervention has done as much good as pissing into the wind?
I would say a week.
Who's working on the boilerplate warning test? My proposal was just a quick draft -- I know there are people way better at that than I am.
Michele, I'm confused on what points do you agree with Jim and what points do you agree with me?
Jim thinks we should just ignore her but let her stay.
I think we should issue a formal warning and if she continues her behaviour then supsend her.
Also I'm confused by the concept of "she can't seem to follow the rules but we should let her stay anyway."
