huh. this sounds all very interesting to the Make-Shit-Happen part of my brain.
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Victor, you're officially the good twin. Other than failing to bake bread and running a stupid fan site, I ain't doing SQUAT.
Two apologies in Building A Better Mouthtrap Board from Zoe. This is the type of behavior everyone wants from her, yes? Then, those who were apologised to might want to acknowledge the apologies.
As one of the people she apologised to ... huh? She apologised to me for thinking Nora did DB work. I was telling her Nora didn't do DB work (and by that I do NOT mean Boreanaz, though I suspect she hasn't worked him either) because it was true, not because I was offended! I think she apologised to Nora too, and I see even less point to that.
My instinctive reaction to it was "Huh? Okay." And typing that? Rude. So I didn't. But here you have it. Giving thanks for a meaningless apology is furthering nonsensical communication by participating in it, and I don't see a value to it. So I'm not going to play.
We have over 800 registered members, right? And - from voter turnout - say 100 dedicated, or frequent, posters. And if everyone just posts once about a subject we get 100 posts in here. And if they respond and discuss we get multiples of 100 posts. So, really, Kafka grows by leaps and bounds, but people want to be heard.
The problem with all the "talking it out" is not that it gets repetitious, but that it gets nasty.
Yes. I don't hate when we talk long on an issue. I just hate when we start feeling hurt by each other, over someone who isn't even in the conversation, or over a voting method, or a possible thread, and also, monkeys.
ita - thank you for sending the notice.
I just noticed that the WX Contingency fora were left open the last time we left. (I haven't checked them all, but at least the main forum and NAFDA are postable-in.)
I just closed NAFDA, and am in the process of shutting down most of the threads in Main, but not all, since there's IMPORTANT DISCUSSION to happen there.
Wow, victor. Like some chaos with your anarchy, do you? All that and ferrets. I wouldn't have pried into your reasons, if it weren't for the simultaneity with jengod that made me curious.
For me at least, I think Jengod and I both wanting to stop made it a little easier. The job's more time-intensive than you'd think, and it demands a lot of attention, which, frankly, I ain't got right now.

Yet strangely, I'm still broke. Go figure.

True, and I think that's a symptom of frustration. We're really good at discussing our feelings. We're not, collectively, good at taking action.
And - from voter turnout - say 100 dedicated, or frequent, posters.
And maybe a few of us who simply procrastinated on the voting because it always seemed to be getting modified and we missed the final final trulio final this is really it final voting.
I'm just saying voter turnout does not necessarily translate into dedication or frequency of posts.
ETA: Too Minnesotan. Bracketed I guesses removed from around last sentance.
I threadsucked both B'cy and Press just now to see if any conclusion had been come to regarding posting announcements of warnings/suspensions/bannings in Press, and, as I suspected, none had.
Personally, I think it's worth posting any Stompy Notices in Press, not as any kind of public flogging for the Stompee, but just to help these conversations end when they're over. Seeing "Buffistina Monkeypants has recieved the following Official Stompy Foot notice: blah blah noticecakes" in Press would let people know that the decision had been reached, and action taken without having to wade through all 300+ posts in here.
