Okay, I just read this whole thing and I'm reminded of why last month I suggested we get a formal system down for warnings/suspensions/bannings. I think the sheer volume of posts in this thread means that she needs a formal warning.

Do I think it's going to do any good? Well, no. I don't think it's going to make the slightest difference in how she posts. But I think it will help the community a great deal. People feel very frustrated right now. Maybe if they know she's been warned and is treading on a slippery slope, everyone can take a breath and calm down the next time she goes off.

The mental illness thing really bothers me. Because I have posted with people who have had truly challenging disabilities. I once had a poster who was MP. They never violated the rules of my board nor were they a disruptive presence. Not once. And if there is some problem that makes her unable to follow the rules, then this isn't the forum for her. Now, if we knew she had a problem and she told us of it and was making an attempt to work within the existing CC, that's a different story. That's not what's happening here.

Well said, Bitter.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Fact is -- community standards exist. There has been no move I've seen here to change them. She's violated them. There has been a stopgap suggestion, and it's a harmless one, so I'm very pro it.

YES.

Also, the speculations about Zoe's mental capacity are, I think, incredibly inappropriate and are making me (and others, I think) very uncomfortable. Unless she weighs in here and mentions neurological impairment herself, I really feel that that topic should be off limits.

Guy #1: Man, there are so many hipsters around. I hate hipsters! Guy #2: You're at the wrong place. That's like going to Vegas only to say "I hate titties!" --The Warsaw, Williamsburg (OINY)

What bitterchick said.

Nobody

I will not object to any course of action as long as it makes Buffistas happy. I will gladly open a vein if it'll get us to stop talking about it.

Note: I know people can (and will) keep talking about it. I just hate it.

I'm with bitterchick on needing a process, and needing to follow it.

I'm with Jess in that personal speculation is a no-no.

I'm going off to have fun in other threads.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay.

One, unofficial warning as requested from a number of Buffistas, is being composed.

And sent.

This is tiring.

deleting because decision has been made that makes this irrelenant. After this has calmed down a bit, I'll post the suggestion again for future cases.

Our wings are not tired.

I believe that the volume of discussion concerning the remarkably few problems we have had is far more upsetting than the actual problems.

A streamlined process would be nice. We have the process, but we need a smoother way to use it.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

ita, thank you for sending the warning, if it was you who sent it as an admin. If you asked another Stompy to do it, I'll just say thank you in general to the Stompies.

Because this is a lot of bullshit to deal with on top of HostRocket being wankers.

I was going to reply to a lot of posts, but I'm not going to now that an official warning e-mail has been sent.

And I guess the next step is to wait and see.

And for what it's worth, I miss Allyson being here more than she is now, and I think it's sad that our endless debate/argument/red tape is what drove her (and others) away.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Thank you, ita.
