Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

And what bitterchick said.

(Again, I am hoping to write some clear procedure to put up somewhere on this site so I don't have t keep finding things without search. because clearly my memory is shot, or I thought everyone vted my way)

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I really think discussing more than one issue at a time in the discussion thread will get confusing. I thought one of the problems with Bureaucracy was that 5 people were talking about a War thread, 2 were talking about an All Other TV thread, and 10 (myself included) were debating the relative merits of naming all new threads Monkey in the Middle. It was distracting. Really, I don't think a week is a long time to wait. The process will be much smoother and more transparent if we take issues one at a time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The whole entire point of the Lightbulb thread is to focus the discussion. It was absolutely created to handle one issue at a time. The idea was to have a definitive beginning and end to discussion before voting. It is one of the few effective brakes we can have on the fact that we are blah blah intensive. We do like to talk and analyze, but it creates its own negative friction. And so it is essential that the Lightbulb thread only deal with one issue at a time.

If I only had a brain...

Here is a formal proposal for the next vote (assuming it gets four seconds).

All decisions made within the last three months are subject to a waiting period before being reopened. This waiting period shall be the standard Buffista post-vote waiting period, and shall begin from the passage of this proposal.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Okay, so what I posted above is what's working right now. Yes? Except possibly for the below:

no other proposals may be formalized. They can be hashed out and maybe even put in queue (?), but not formalized so as not to cause Light Bulb traffic.

Wolfram, I do sort of understand your concern about time, but you've seen how hairy and off-topic we can get trying to debate a single point. Trying to debate two at once? That way lies madness. If we really want to talk out a proposal, and we really want to let everyone contribute (i.e. have a longish talk period), then this is the only practical way I can think of to make it work.

I mean, imagine if the Math Talk of a few days ago were trying to happen at the same time as "Should we have a thread about Nutty's cottage cheese butt?" -- imagine all the math I would have to wade through to find backhanded compliments about my butt! That would never do. Moreso, if there were any ambiguity or need to debate the 2nd topic seriously.

I want to marry Nutty.

And fourthed, although I sort of kind of think it can be added to what is under vote now?
