why are we waiting until midnight if the number of seconds is reached well before midnight?
I'm thinking because we will end up closing it at midnight, and that makes an exact number of days? But I agree, it seems silly.

We aren't aiting askye. We are just going to let the discussion open 4 hours early. I couldn't put the right time in m post becuse I don't know what time the thread will open.

Drow.
Asyke, I think we just decided to open Lightbulbs now, but leave the other start/end times at midnight for simplicity's sake.
I suppose if a proposal were seconded 4 times in the morning (board time), we could use noon to keep the actual discussion time as close to 4 days as possible.
And it is mostly because I am math impaired...

Why? I admit, I may have missed it, but . . . . Is it just because it's easier? Cuz I'm all in favor of laziness.
Just cause I can't do math.
If whoever is posting in Press wants to figure out the exact 4 day 3 day split I'm all for it.
if I am psoting it, I am incapable of doing it. it will take me so long to post that it will be obsolete by the time I post.
It's cleaner. Discussion ends at midnight. Voting commences at midnight and ends at midnight three days later.
I think keeping it midnight (or noon, for proposals Lightbulbed in the morning) also makes it easier on the admins who will be closing the thread and opening voting.
And, it's easier on counting the votes - if they're received during day X, they're good, if not . . . .
BTW, what time zone?
