Wasn't the six month thing part of what we already voted?

No

if not, does that mean we have to have another vote on this?

Yes

Wasn't closing discussion once something was decided one of the main points of voting for voting?

Was discussed a lot, but hasn't yet been voted on.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Damn.

This is my fault. I asked if there was anything else we should have on this ballot - so I should have checked.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

We actually decided there was too much on the ballot to put that on, way back when I asked. So not your fault. Hivemind and one time decided against it. Also, there are 3 choices that people have bandied about, and we haven't decided how to deal with that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Sophia and everyone, thanks so much for writing up that pros&cons thing. It's amazingly helpful.

They really are. I think this is useful for the community on future votes. Except most of the future votes will be more self-evident.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Sorry, I just had to do it...

Our wings are not tired.

You just lost your status as bestest secret boyfriend. I was planning on waiting for the lovely number to report on voting to moment.

46 early voters have spoken.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A big huge THANKS from me to Sophia, and Jon, and Laura, and all the Sompies, and everyone else.

(Am I wrong, or does it really feel like things are smoothing out? Yay.)

does it really feel like things are smoothing out?

I really think so.

I think, to talk about method, it really helps when we stick to a particular proposal and tweak that proposal until nobody hates it.

It really helps to see an example ballot on screen, because that way anyone can grab it, cut and paste and edit, and re-post a new version and say "how's this instead?" -- it's like a piece of paper being passed around between us.

That's much better than talking in the abstract, or talking about hypothetical situations, plus it helps reduce the "didn't we already have this discussion?" feeling that you get sometimes.

I think smoothing out also.

Concur with this also. I think we've wrestled a workable method for us here.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That said, I do want to acknowledge that this is not the perfect method for everyone, and some people will still be unsatisfied with the process. I just really hope that nearly everyone is satisfied enough with the ultimate results to live with them.
