I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

(Am I wrong, or does it really feel like things are smoothing out? Yay.)

I think smoothing out also.

It really helps to see an example ballot on screen, because that way anyone can grab it, cut and paste and edit, and re-post a new version and say "how's this instead?" -- it's like a piece of paper being passed around between us.

That's much better than talking in the abstract, or talking about hypothetical situations, plus it helps reduce the "didn't we already have this discussion?" feeling that you get sometimes.

Concur with this also. I think we've wrestled a workable method for us here.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That said, I do want to acknowledge that this is not the perfect method for everyone, and some people will still be unsatisfied with the process. I just really hope that nearly everyone is satisfied enough with the ultimate results to live with them.

Okay, if I vote "no" for minimum number of seconds - - why do I have to vote for a number of seconds?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

So that if the "yes"'s win, you still have a voice. I suppose we could assume that if "yes" wins, all the "no"'s would vote for "1", but it seemed more fair to ask and be sure.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Sumi, the reason to vote for a minimum number even if you don't want to vote for seconds is so that, if it passes, you can at least participate in coming up with a number. If it doesn't pass, then the second part of the vote won't matter, and if it does pass, don't you want to help ensure that the minimum number is at least acceptable to you?

So, did it then not accept my entire ballot so I have to go back and vote for everything again?

Also, I'd be happier with progressive voting.

Votes for issue 1. New ballot for issue 2 and so on.

Also -- why do you require us to vote on all questions?

The thing is driving me nuts because if I skip a question, rather than telling me to fill out all answers it first says you must have a number between x and x on this question - - when I hit the back button it takes me back to Press rather than the ballot.

So I went back and voted No Preference on everything.

Sumi, I don't know what's going on with your actual ballot, but I do know that they all just get emailed to Laura, so you could email votes@buffistas.org, or just email Laura, to say what you want to vote.
