The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Speaking of thread titles, is that the definite pick for Natter 9? We may need it Tuesday, and definitely will by Wednesday.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I'd really, really, really like to discuss both shows in both fucking threads. Like we did on WX. Yes, some people are on tape delay. They were last year, too.

There was definitely an effort to keep people from being spoiled in the alternate threads on WX, PMM. I remember benefitting from it; UPN had basketball last year, too.

I'd say the policy was never so much discussed because I don't think there's a lot of contention, and, frankly, I've never seen an instance of a sustained analysis that would take both shows into account. They have very little in common these days.

See, I remember discussing both shows, and not whitefonting either. There were times in NAFDA threads where things were spoilerfonted when we knew there'd be huge delays, but not a whole season thing like we've got going on now. I mean, the people in OZ can discuss things that we're still white fonting in show threads. That's just stupid.

I've seen a lot of it, just not here, unless its in Spoilers, because the task of whitefonting the various points is too much of a pain in the ass for any sort of in-depth thing. Hell, I was reading some good essays about both shows earlier today.

I'd say the policy was never so much discussed because I don't think there's a lot of contention

Yeah, there is. It's just mostly grumbled about and then shot down. But I know damn well I'm not the only one who thinks its an issue, and who thinks it should have been discussed before being set into law.

I thought the last time this came up (January 9th according to my Nilly which says to look here: P.M. Marcontell "Bureaucracy 1: Like Kafka, Only Funnier" Jan 9, 2003 5:46:13 pm EST) that the consensus seemed to be that we need to bring it back up if it's a problem. It's a problem for PMM and possibly for Jeff. Is it a problem for anyone else?

Edited to get the correct date.

There's no reason to be whitefonting the first evil in the Angel thread; that's excessive. I'd be fine with limiting it to two eps out.

But it's important to me not to be spoiled, far more important than discussing the two shows in tandem.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'd like to see Natter 9, Natter 9, Natter 9

I'm not against a short delay.

What I am against is an unreasonable delay. It's frustrating, because I'm not sure how much I can say without fear of spoiling people, because if I say I think it will be an issue (SPECULATION BASED ON EPISODES ONLY) which I think it will, because we've had mentions of Angel on Buffy, Buffy on Angel, and Faith on both, plus something that may or may not foreshadow more crossovers, according to show thread people. (NO MORE SPECULATION), it may seem like I'm being spoilery, when I'm only basing it on what has aired.

The type of behavior I'd prefer seeing modified over the whole use of spoiler font is the taunting. For example, while at ita's I got see tomorrow's Buffy and with bittorrent, apparently many Buffistas are watching earlier. More power to you all and I'm happy for you. I could taunt those who haven't seen it, but what's the point? Does it make me cooler for having seen it before some of you? Does it make it a better viewing experience? No to all of those questions.

But I'm just, to borrow Plei's word, cheesed by the need to read, "Ohhhh! I just watched it for the 19th time! You all are going to love it. It's so cool!"

To me, that's so much more irritating than having to whitefont.

edited to clarify.

Nobody

Well, excited talk of the "you will love this!" doesn't bother me, nor did the Unamerican violence warnings for Betsy back when they were neccessary, but taunting for taunting's sake (Ha ha, I saw it and you didn't) is kind of a drag. I realize I do this excited talking myself--if I caption a show which I think is good, I like to to give advance warning because it maight help people make a choice to watch who are wavering.
