The line of succession is now understood to run through Faith. No new slayer will be called until she dies
I think it should be stated that it's not been said onscreen, but rather only in interviews.
Also, was it stated that the kittens were food?
And, while I'm here: What does a soul mean? Does Lorne have a soul? For that I'd just quote Joss's "tendency to good, tendency to evil" statement and say that it leaves a lot open to debate and neverending argument.
Oh, look at me with the late ideas -- "Why doesn't Willow use a Star of David against vampires?"

Done.
Also, was it stated that the kittens were food?
Darned if I know.
I go to bed now.

Not stated explicitly. But it was implied that the kittens came to harm. Also that kittens were valuable and cats weren't.

And maybe a link to Cindy's essay on the subject.

The shooting script has one of the demons saying "they are delicious". I haven't seen the episode itself, so I don't know if it made it into the final cut.
Also that kittens were valuable and cats weren't.
You don't need to tenderize them nearly so much.
Cordy said the line runs through Faith onscreen in a S3 episode that i just saw, didn't she? Can't remember which one. They were all in the Bronze.
How do you get to be a slayer?
Practice, practice, practice.
Why are there two slayers right now?
Double your pleasure, double your fun, right?
How does someone become a vampire?
However the script needs them to. I just saw the one where Buffy got tested by being drugged. That guy that vamped Lt. Reed didn't do anything but bite him and wait.
If a vampire doesn't need to eat or drink for sustenance, why do they? If a vampire doesn't need to breathe, why can they smoke? If vampires don't have a heartbeat or blood pressure, how do they achieve an erection?
Fun; to show they are really evil; they have to Pump...It Up.
Why can I see Angel/Spike/Drusilla/Darla breathing?
Because all those actors, they actually have to breath even when they are pretending to be things that don't. They must be lousy actors.
How did Angel return from the Hell dimension after S2?
Powers That Be wanted him to be a Champion.
When is Buffy's birthday? Wasn't it different in S1?
It's always on the worst day of the year.
Who is Dawn?
Christ only knows.
How old is Dawn?
Too old to ignore. Too young to talk about graphically.
What's up with the complexity of Faith?
Yeah, this is television. Aren't characters supposed to be black and white?
Whatever happened to Oz? Drusilla? Riley? Harmony? Joyce? Hank Summers? Miss Kitty Fantastico?
They are all soup now.
What happened to Whistler?
He painted his mother and got famous for it.
Who is Dead Gay Larry?
And why is he so gay about being dead?
What the hell was the deal with that episode where Buffy was in the asylum?
Wait until the season finale and you'll find out.
Any other 'verses I should know about?
Well, there was on old lady from Kent...
What's 5x5 mean?
You have a cool truck.
FWIW, I also am pretty sure we've heard onscreen that the line goes through Faith. And I think the fact we haven't seen anyone Called from the S5 death is really, really strong proof of that, as is [S7 Buffy spoilers] the fact Giles didn't find Slayer #3 when he was gathering the SiTs. I know Buffy said the line went through her a few episodes back, but I think she was simplifying things for the SiT on purpose.
But yeah, of course Joss can change his mind.
Lyra, spoilers.
