You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

When there *is* a new thread added, what's the policy on letting people know about it? I know it'll be announced in Press, but I also kind of like the idea of automatically subscribing everybody to it, and then the first time they see it they can unsub if they... wait, sorry, this isn't TT, we don't have unsub buttons in the thread itself. Carry on.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

They weren't talking about Kissinger, though. They were talking about Spiro Agnew, IIRC. Still, I could be led to believe that everyone in the Nixon Whitehouse was some kind of demon. t Idly ponders whether Gerald Ford was of the same demon species as Clem...

edit in answer to Ple's following post: Sorry lost track of the thread. Sure this Read New button is convenient and all, but at what price? Now there's Natter in Bureaucracy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. jengod deleted ita. She's crazy with the power! Uh, think of something quick and bureaucratic so she doesn't delete this...this goes back to our earlier discussion of how we think of this community. Is it a community primarily focused on the Jossiverse shows, or has it already expanded into something which (like Literary Buffistas) wants to discuss other topics within this community. So a political thread would support the second notion. Long term, do we expect there to be a Movie discussion here as well? Or are people happy with Ovies? Do we want a Farscape thread? Or is Smallville the lone non-Joss show representative?

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I think maybe we have grown beyond the Jossverse. Let's take a worst case scenario. (Not a real world worse case, but a Joss related worst case.) Firefly fail. Because not enough attention is paid, Buffy and Angel move into permanent suckitude and lose audience. All three shows are canceled. Do we want this community to end.

Hec we named a thread after a beutiful post in which you said no.

So I think we are definitely going to grow beyond a pure Joss community. As long as the Jossverse exists, I think it will the Buffista center. But I think in the long run we are more than just part of the Jossverse.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jengod, bureaucracy isn't a natter-delete zone. Only press and beep are. This is natter discouraged, however, so you are free to spank me.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

*lights match between toes of jengod's stompy foot. walks off, whistling innocently*

I do think a decision needs to be made whether the Phoenix is solely a Joss World Domination project, or whether it will be extended beyond that. It doesn't seem fair to include one show and not another, i.e., Smallville but not Farscape, so some kind of consistency needs to be achieved. Personally, I'm not fussed either way, yet it would be nice to discuss other genre shows.
