Swouncing

A postcard from Rome (only I'm not there anymore, I landed in Israel yesterday). Welcome home, me.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Off to San Diego. Will be dark until Saturday. Have fun, everyone.

I'm getting the pig!

Hello from the dark life and times of me. How I've missed you all.

The Good News: I became a proud homeowner in July! Cute two bedroom with garage.
The Bad News: 1. My home computer died the day after new phone line was hooked up. 2. I was (so unexpectedly) laid off on Aug. 11th.

So, the current news is that my computer, so far, is alive and kicking again and although I have had six interviews for various Administrative Assistant positions in the last two weeks....no job offers as of yet.

I guess I need to look at this in a positive light....now I have a computer again and loads of time to catch up on Buffista reading!

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

May I request a bit of -ma?

Galleys of "The Weaver & the Factory Maid" are now in the hands of reviewers and bookstore owners. If there's too much feedback in the nature of "this is great, but it's too unusual to really be called a 'mystery' novel" it could kill the rest of the series deal.

Ed Kaufman at M is for Mystery, on the basis of the PR and synopsis, is reading it this weekend and deciding whether he wants to host an "event" at MifM.

Requesting "love this book!" -ma, pretty please?

It's a remora, dimwit.

Any Buffistas out there interested in attending the Arab World fair this weekend in Milwaukee? Have tickets, would like to pig out on great food and ogle belly-dancers with friends.

Dark to blackout level until Monday night; we're off to LA and our laptop is nonfunctional at the moment. So unless someone offers computer access, silence it shall be.

But we'll see all the LAistas who want to be seen this weekend.

Are you ready to be strong?

I need a MASSIVE INFUSION of jobma svp. One of the hiring-type people from the place I want to work called me last night and said they want to talk to me AGAIN, TODAY, at 4:00. I don't know what they want to talk to me about. I guess they have some question about me? Or they just want to look at me again because I'm so pretty? Or perhaps they need to know about my makeout techniques. Or maybe they want me to be there at 4:20 so we can all toke up! They want to know if I am a "square."

I DO NOT KNOW. All I know is I'm supernervous and would really appreciate any vibes/voodoo spells/magick kabbalah hoohaw sent toward getting me this job.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I got a call this afternoon and set up a second interview with the company I interviewed at yesterday afternoon.

The general manager said he had some people he wanted me to meet.

Meep.

Jobma appreciated. "Remembering how to be funny, intelligent, and charming in a group of total strangers whom I need to impress"-ma also appreciated.

I don't want to be Superman. I want to stay little and be next to Mommy.

I am no longer unemployed! I start Monday week at a large midtown financial-information firm. It's good money, but the commute is close to two hours each way. The work will be interesting and challenging. Ongoing don't-screw-it-up-ma greatly appreciated...
