If anyone can spare jobma vibes for my DH, Bob, please do so. A friend of a friend has a very good position open in a company he is qualified for and could actually commute to and still have a life. The FoaF connection will help, I know, but that only goes so far. He's been unemployed now for a year and a day, and there's only so much farther the reserves are going to stretch. If he could get this before they run out, we'd be more than relieved.

Early this morning, on Father's Day, my sister called to let me know that her husband had passed away at home after a severe heart attack. He was 35 years old. They have two young children, Taylor is 4 and Nicholas just turned 2.

I may be dark while figuring out how to get to Mississippi for the funeral since all of my spare funds were just handed over to a realtor yesterday as an Earnest Fee on my possible new house. You never seem to get the good without the bad, in my family.

Prayers for my sister and her children would be much appreciated. House-ma would be secondary but appreciated also.

Vibe me this evening, please, as I have a test. The first one since PhD prelims, and those were a rutting disaster... anyway, this whole being back in school thing is starting to feel an awful lot like being back in school.

Just to let everyone know, Vortex is safely out of surgery and into recovery. According to the update, she's doing fine; whether she survives a week or two of care at the ancestral home is a whole 'nother matter.

The DH had a gating email interview yesterday for a QA job he can do quite well. They have many to read, but please, send jobma that they like his enough to ask for a face-to-face.

I'm back from Ireland now. Ireland was great. I got totally lost in Heathrow and nearly missed my connection coming home, but I made it. I'm not sure how much I'll be online, though, since my home internet connection is getting a bit screwed up right now.
