The FoaF connection will help, I know, but that only goes so far. He's been unemployed now for a year and a day, and there's only so much farther the reserves are going to stretch. If he could get this before they run out, we'd be more than relieved.

Early this morning, on Father's Day, my sister called to let me know that her husband had passed away at home after a severe heart attack. He was 35 years old. They have two young children, Taylor is 4 and Nicholas just turned 2.
I may be dark while figuring out how to get to Mississippi for the funeral since all of my spare funds were just handed over to a realtor yesterday as an Earnest Fee on my possible new house. You never seem to get the good without the bad, in my family.
Prayers for my sister and her children would be much appreciated. House-ma would be secondary but appreciated also.

Just to let everyone know, Vortex is safely out of surgery and into recovery. According to the update, she's doing fine; whether she survives a week or two of care at the ancestral home is a whole 'nother matter.
More updates (I bet meara has some, as well) as they become available. I'll be calling tomorrow to check in on Our Ms. V.
